As far as I know, Ann is the only legitimate breeder of the ANCD. I have not purchased a puppy from her, but in my opinion she does everything the right way when it comes to breeding. The delay in communication is worth it!

That's a worry with any big dog, though. I know lots of people who have large dogs who just didn't teach Fido that jumping on people is bad. I find it amusing, as I'll usually start playing/wrestling back when I'm jumped on. But yeah, not a good habit for a big dog to get into doing!

She could have said something like "The reason was not the dog's behavior, it was something that I am not at liberty to disclose." My curiosity would have been sated with such a statement. I'm beginning to see why her vague word choice can be frustrating to others at times.

Response: "Personal reasons."

Wouldn't reverse engineering entail capturing both behavior and aesthetics? If so, that would mean breeding out 'dog-like' qualities and breeding in 'wolf-like' qualities. Then again, I know next to nothing about breeding or genetics. Just wondering! :)

Um...stupid question: what's a show lead and how is it different from a regular collar and leash? o.O A show lead is a skinny chain/rope leash. I don't think that people should be allowed to own wolves or wolf hybrids. Wolves are not dogs.
