Ivanic Grad Local News

Post by Sylvaen » Wed Apr 25, 2012 12:58 pm

Vega's litter made the local news! :)
The article is written in Croatian but it's nice to see the breed getting some local recognition:

The future lies before you, like a path of pure white snow...
Be careful how you tread it, for every step will show.

I tried. See what you make of it:

Rare Tamaskan dogs in Ivanić grad
Ivanić Grad: A few days ago in the veterinarian clinic "četiri šape" (Four paws) in Ivanić grad, 10 small Tamaskan pups, very rare in the world, came to life. The owner of the Tamaskan bitch is mr. Raguž Andrija from Ivanić Grad, and he got her from Finland from mrs. Debby Stainforth
"On Easter the Tamaskan was ready (Vega), pregnancy was wathed over the ultrasound and there was only one thing left to do, greet the small pups who were inpatient to greet the world (??? WTF did I just read???). Next came the caesarean section, a rutine operation which does not happen every day so there was a great deal of excitment. After all this is a case of most pups being born this way" said Robert Sirovec (the Vet)

The amaskan is one unusual breed in our parts, but still it's just like the other dogs, looking for lots of love, understanding and daily work; because a happy and taken care of dog is an obediant dog.

INFO:
Tamaskan breed is not yet recognized by the FCI. It comes from Finland, where he came to be from crossing other breeds to make a wolf like dog with wolf charactaristics. There are 3000 Tamaskans registrated in the world. Tamaskans are big dogs build athleticlly. Average height is 60 to 70 cm and weight from 25 to 40 kg. Even though they look like wolves there nature is extremly calm. They are highly inteligent dogs willing to work. They are great as sled dogs, great in search and rescue and great seeing dogs (for blind people). Tamaskan can be a great pet aswell and get along great with other people, small children, other dogs and other pets (cats, rabbits..)
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or play with it, just pee on it and walk away

Thanks for posting a translation as I was keen to know what it said. It's all good advertising for the breed. :P

They where talking about how warm it was for the time of the year and every one was wearing shorts and riding bikes and my dog was got into the part of the story about not everyone enjoying the snow melting and it being so hot. Zephyr had found the only pile of snow left at the park, and he dug a hole in the muddy snow and was laying on his back...as to say it was to hot for a walk. I recorded my tv from my iphone so I had the video. I can try to upload it later. The time he was in the paper it was for pulling children at the kid sled pull event.
