PLEASE NOTE: Kato is NOT a Tamaskan but he IS a very Tamaskan-y looking Northern Inuit...
(the NI is one of the breeds that went into the creation of the Tamaskan Dog of today.)
It sounds like there might be some work involved with retraining and socializing this chap...He has come from a breeder who no longer required him. He came in late last night and and though the experience must have been very scary he was a star. He will require a really special home. He is very pack orientated and so needs another dog. He is a little hesitant approaching but soon comes around. He has not lived in a house, and could well think nothing of raiding your fridge, jumping on your work surfaces and doing things most people would find unacceptable but he will train so just needs time and direction. Please understand that our fellow has not been out in the world so is a little wary and truly will need time. Please DO NOT apply unless you are serious and prepared to put in the work.
However, if you are in the UK and are interested in adopting an older wolfy-looking Rescue Dog, this is definitely worth looking into!
This dog is located at the main rescue centre in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.13-02-11 UPDATE:
Kato is a really happy chap. He loves playing in the yard and running and bouncing with you. He is a perfect gentleman when you go in his kennel, always waiting to be loved and fussed, but never pushing. He would love a home where he could soak up as much love and attention that somebody could pass his way. He walks politely on the lead and happily greets passing dogs.
