Taos (UK) - adopted

Post by Sylvaen » Sun Feb 13, 2011 10:40 pm

PLEASE NOTE: Taos is NOT a Tamaskan but he IS a very Tamaskan-y looking Northern Inuit...
(the NI is one of the breeds that went into the creation of the Tamaskan Dog of today.)
He has been given to us by a breeder who no longer required him. He has never lived in a home and is learning with us to walk better on the lead. He is very large and out of all the Inuits I have here looks the most like a wolf. He has no real domestic skills as has not lived in a home before. This is a very specialist breed and unless you have time patience and the commitment please DO NOT apply.
It sounds like there might be some work involved with retraining and socializing this chap...
However, if you are in the UK and are interested in adopting an older wolfy-looking Rescue Dog, this is definitely worth looking into!

13-02-11 UPDATE:
What a stunning lad Taos is. All the Inuits we have here are so loving and all have great temperaments and Taos is no exception. He loves to be made a fuss of and being groomed. He would love a home to call his own. He is very calm in his kennel, never jumping up, but always there for a cuddle.
This dog is located at the main rescue centre in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THIS DOG:
Please read our adoption procedures before applying and complete the Adoption Form. You will be contacted within 24 hours. If successful you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog. All our dogs are micro-chipped, had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £165 for dogs at the centre.

I also hope he finds a good home, not one where he will be "no longer required"

:-) Thanks all for the good wishes :-)
As a lifelong GSD carer (I hate the term 'owner' when it comes to our canine friends) I'm TOTALLY blown away by him.
Regular updates on the website as we go along.
Any Tamaskan's visiting Wales (South Gwynedd near to Barmouth) over the summer are welcome to come and play :-)
We have mountains, forests, rivers, beaches and sea in abundance. Oodles of places to play and get wet and muddy :-)

YAY :)
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
.............................................................
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
