Grass seeds can be nasty, I remember seeing a Welsh Springer with one in her face, it was horrible :(
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Nanaki is just a wonderful dog... it brings me to tears that anyone would have abandoned him.... OR that he was orig found as a stray and no one would have been looking for him..... He is so sweet and accepting! Lord! I really need to tape him and Bull running around after eachother!!!! Ya know, he'll be naughty and put his paws on my lap then when I say "Ah-AH" he'll give me an ever so sweet kiss then get down ;) Thank you so much Hitenshi for helping this beautiful pup to a better life!!!

Would love to see another video of them all :) Nanaki really is a sweetie, I (and Ulric) really enjoyed having him here and I'm really happy knowing that he is in good hands now, makes me even more want to be part of the Tamaskan Rescue :)

Beautiful Nanaki went to his new home today! He was introduced to a 10 month old Mastiff pup who will end up being a large (REALLY LARGE) part of his life. Nanaki was just so comfortable with the new dog and his new dad! I gave the adopter the link to this forum to keep everyone UTD with Nanaki's progress ;) OH, how I wish I had taken pics!

I hope this is his forever home and that he is happy there and we get updates, from following his story on here I feel I almost know him so it would be lovely to hear how he is getting on. It would have been nice to have some photos of his meeting his new family, fingers crossed for some soon.

It is with extreme displeasure that I have to announce that Nanaki is back in rescue.... I am devistated, but the home wasn't right for him.

"Naki" waltzed back into our home (as he is just too special to foster out) like he never left... we all love this guy, but he has to have a forever home who understands his special needs....

I look at Naki and think "What the Hell???!!" He's a great dog and one of the best through our rescue.....

Even the best screened adopters can fall through. This home prob needs a dog w/o any history, no hang ups.... a "made" dog.... honestly, they told be that he started to hate his crate, urinate out of frustration, and get into things....They were blindsided by his medical needs...

I found that once he was back here that he gravitated to the crate I had set up, did not urinate in the house... But seemed to develope a liking to books... would like to say that he is the most intelligent dog in the world, but I know that he de-paged books out of boardome ;)

This is the new PetFinder listing:

http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/19803546

I cannot say this enough, Naki is one of the easiest going and nicest dogs that have come though our rescue....There is a home for him, somewhere.... We will go through great lengths to find a placement for Naki! Never again will I be blindsided by the "pretty dog" syndrome.....

I kinda look at it this way.... I would much rather that the adopters took responsibility for their mistake and do the right thing rather than continually struggle to try and force things to work.... I found out that there were some judgement errors made on their part early on. Like he had been kenneled over night about a week after he got to the home, after that, the behaviors I described earlier started to surface, then I discovered that the man of the home was going to be traveling for work much more often than I had thought. He was off on business when the pup had a breakthrough seizure (stress induced I am sure)....

Our Vet had advised us to take Naki off the seizure meds while he was here and see if we could quantify the seizures... petit mal/grand mal or even just to see how he did off the meds. In the 6 weeks he had been here, we saw nothing, just a happy go lucky energetic dog. Here I must say that I had identified the adopters already and they were involved with that decision to take him off the medication to see how it goes. I had made it pretty clear that IF he has any seizures, that he would just need to get put back on the medication.

I just think that the dog got more and more stressed after being kenneled and having his man leave.

Well, anyway, he's safe, happy and getting the attention he needs here ;) There's a home for him some where ;) I could actually see him in a home with hikers and even a cat ;) He'll make a great companion dog, its just that the seizure thing scares people. They just don't understand that he could live a long happy, normal life and shouldn't be treated like he's disabled ;) Allow him to be the dog he is suppose to be and he will flourish ;)

I don't want to make anything official, but an old adopter who took a pup earlier this year has shown genuine interest in Naki ;) Naki has already met her dog and he was quite the gentleman... we are going over there tomorrow so Naki can have some one on one time with the family.

Here is a cute pic of what I would call a "Gaggle of Tamaskan Dogs" ;) please note the stray foot flung across another dog's head HA!!!!! Naki is in the foreground...
