We'll try re-intros tomorrow...

This is a really neat, well adjusted dog!!!! No huge hang-ups (except for Bull HA!!!!!) Pardon the mess in the garage pics... they destroyed a fluffy toy last noc and I just haven't picked up the pieces yet ;) It being so HOT here in WI lately, the garage floor is the favorite cool hang out for the dogs ;)
Nanaki is the one with the harness....

By the way, I met HiTenshi's Ulric! Holy Cow! What a beautiful dog!!!! He's about the size of Tarheel's Blaze and absolutely awsome! Beautiful temperament... I think he was a little freaked out about my large voice and bright red glasses, but who wouldn't be ;) Nanaki was obviously attached to Ulric..... and looked to HiTenshi when it was time to go.... poor boy! He really loves his "foster" family! Alot of changes for him....

Nanaki has really taken a shining to Saley...play, play, play, play, play.... almost non stop.... I tried to re-introduce Nanaki to Bull today but it didn't gp well. Bull was absolutly appropriate, however Nanaki just was not comfortable with him. I almost suspect that Nanaki doesn't like small dogs.... it happens ;) Other than that, Nanaki is just out of this world fabulous! I am going to ask his new adopter join the forum and keep everyone updated on his progress....

I have an adopter set up, but have chosen to keep the boy here for a couple of weeks to monitor him. We found a growth between his front left center toes, about and inch by 2/3 inch.... it doesn't seem to bother him at all, so is not some kind of inflamatory response to a forgein object... and is not red or "hot" as he does not lick or bother it... I have a few options... watch and wait, hopefully it will go down in time, have the Vet Biopsy it if it gets bigger, or just have the Vet remove it entirely, then send off a biopsy for cytology... the later two options will cost a fairly sig amount of money...
I will post picks of the growth when he stops playing with the girlies...

Other than that, HiTenshi did such a wonderful job with Nanaki! He knows sit, down, wait, walks really pretty good on a leash, and is super comfortable in his crate, even just goes in there when he's tired by himself! And so affectionate! He comes to me when I abbriviate his name "Naki"

I took a short Vid of the three of them playing, they do get rougher, but know that inside play has to be subdued ;)

Attached are pics i had my son take of that growth.... any insight???

Maybe from change of area is why he has that weird growth? I don't recall ever seeing that before since I used to check for ticks in his toes before we put Frontline Plus on him. Actually now that I think I'd it, Rukia had an infection on her eyelid where a tick had bit her (infection didn't show up till maybe a week after I found the tick) and she is being treated for. Maybe this is something similar? Hope it clears up soon.

Happy to see him playing with the girls, it was forever when he first met Rukia and Ulric before they would play like that! I did try teaching him the basics, I feel like I should have taught him more. Now if he could just get along with Bull :)

I remember that Nanaki had some issues with Ulric, but he got over it... quite well, may I say ;) That growth is not at all easy to see unless you really, really look for it! Very reassuring that HiTenshi didn't see it, as she was so thorough with checking for ticks;) Will keep you updated ;)

Personnally I would get a vet to check it out just to be safe, I hate to say the C word but it could be a tumor, the fact that it doesn't hurt him kind of worries me, I'm not trying to worry you but I would be worried if it was Zeus.

Hopefully it will just be a benign growth and no problem at all.
Mel.

Zeus 10.02.2007 - 24.07.2012 Rest in peace my boy, you'll always be missed.

I completely agree with you ;) The adopter knows about it..

By the by, Nanaki and Bull have been out and about together all day. No real tense moments (OK, just one, when Bull tried to assert himself with Nanaki... tried to mount him - actually kinda funny to watch! I just thought "REALLY, Bull?" but Nanaki finally had enough of that and asserted back ;) I'd wanted to tape some of the interaction, to show you just how quirky Bull can be... face polking, grunting... you would clearly see why most dogs would just want to clobber the man.... but the camera was not charged.... BUT Nanaki has figured out that Bull is, well, just Bull! Good!!! I figure if a dog can get along with Bullwinkle, they can get along with just about anything HA!!!!

YouTube Vid of Nanaki with ALL of the dogs! You will see towards the end that Bull will polk at Nanaki's face.... can you see why many dogs would completely HATE this??!!! Nanaki has figured out that Bull just speaks a different language ;) Kinda like a forgien exchange student ;) Only about 50 secs long ;)

This post might be helpful for you in the future, it explains how to embed YouTube videos on the forum: http://www.tamaskan-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=54

Normally I edit posts to fix the links to properly embed the videos on the forum but apparently there have been complaints that my editing is 'very annoying' to some people so I will just post a link to the info topic instead... ;)

Lovely video btw - it's great to see them all playing together!! :D

Yeah, the two boys are doing really super well together ;) Just took some time. Bull received a couple of good strikes from Nanaki early on, but Bull needs to be given very defined boundaries ;) I really have seen NO major behavioral issues with Nanaki, just good with everyone, needs a little extra time when presented with a new dog, completely house broken, sweet and affectionate.... Did HiTenshi train him to stand on his two back legs, begging for treats? He could practically walk like that HA!!!

Actually when my brother first got Nanaki, he would jump like crazy for food and he took that to his advantage to try to train him to stand up for treats. He really did not do it so much when I had him, made sure he would sit and wait before I handed him anything, though I'm sure after seeing Rukia stand on two legs for ice he wanted to do the same since he loved ice so much.

*edit*
Also very happy to hear that he is completely house-broken, I worked so hard to help get him that way. Was he completely when he first went to your home?

Nanaki "marked" one spot that I knew that last rescue marked in the house, but other than that, no poops in the house no urination ;) You did such a wonderful job with him! Now I understand Nanaki standing on his hind legs! My older son has been working with him to stay up as long as possible to get a treat ;) it was kind of an accident on our part, but sooo very cute!!!!

OH!!!! Bull and Nanaki actually PLAYED today! Running in and out of the house chasing each other, getting growly and just loving the action! BOYS!!!!

I tell ya, if this dog can figure out all of the personalities in this home, he can figure out any dog ;)

Nanaki is doing really well, he is one lucky dog to have so many people care for him and help make his life better. HiTenshi, you and your brother did a wonderful job in turning his life around, you should both be very proud of yourselves. It is just a shame that the timing was not right for your brother to keep him, it must have been one of the hardest decisions of his life to part with Nanaki, my thoughts are with you both.

I am pleased to announce that the growth between Nanaki's front left toes started to drain late last night. He was such a trooper allowing me to clean it up and treat it ;) So it does seem after all that he has been dealing with some type of irritation that his body was coping with. We still have a f/u with the Vet, but fortunately, the ugly "C" word is not a concern at this point ;)

Perhaps he had a grass seed embedded in his paw and it had caused the infection.
