Natasha (USA) - adopted

Came across this pretty girl I thought looked very much like a Tamaskan on PetFinder.com http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/20517965. She is guessed to be 2 years old, her previous owner was abusive and was going to shoot her just because they did not want her  She is currently in a foster home in Garland, TX and does have heart-worms but is being treated for it. She is spayed and up to date on shots and is also on preventative medications to kill young heart-worms and parasites. I thought I would share this and hope this girl gets her forever home soon.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought so, they do look quite similar even though Nanaki's eyes were much lighter.

Even within the same litter, some siblings can have light eyes and others dark... just taking into account her appearance and location, I'd say it could be a possibility that they are related.

Poor girl. If they are related then the breeder did not do a good job of finding suitable homes for the puppies. I hope she finds a good home soon.

Yes, at least that is the same way Rukia came back to us when we had her spayed.

Beautiful girl! Could be Nanaki's sibling?? Her outer coat is much longer.... She reminds me of a pup I adopted out in VA earlier this year, though... her ear and eye set.... hummm...... are there any pics avail of the back of her ears???? Nanaki has white symetrical splotches on his ears that I have seen in the Blustag lines through J&J Kennels and RPK......

Thank god she's safe in foster! She'll be an easy adoption for someone who is prepared for an abused dog ;)

Yes I get this a lot in my breeding. Always on the back of the ears and dosnt always fade with age. I have no idea where it comes from but it is very noticible. Not bothering me in the least and is rather cute :D

Oh I noticed this on Sølve, thought it was very funny but I didn't know that it was "normal" with the Blustags
very cute indeed :)

I just thought I would keep everyone updated on Natasha.
Her foster mom believes she will be difficult to place because she has separation anxiety and easily breaks out of a large wire crate and then destroys lots of things (which is exactly how Nanaki was). She chases cats that run from her but does not hurt them, she also gets along great with her husky playmate and is wonderful when you're there with her. She did growl at the foster mom's grandson but they feel that was not a fair test since "he is quite annoying and growled at her first." They had to move her back into boarding because of the grandson issue. She said they will also try to get more photos soon.

Thanks to Debby for sending us the link to the Tamaskan Forum. We did not know our baby was so famous  . We can't understand how anyone could abuse such a loving wonderful dog, let alone want to shoot her. For anyone following Natasha's story, we adopted her on 11/4/11, and there are plenty of photos of her on my Facebook page in my photos Natasha "Tasha" folder: http://www.facebook.com/PeterJeremich and Michele's: http://facebook.com/MysticDesire and of course we will be adding more.

Thanks TerriHolt, she seems very happy with us and always pestering for attention. Natasha is everything we read about the Tamaskan breed, it's like the dog was made for us. Even our cat gets along with Tasha, and she is very picky.

It's disgusting that the previous owner would mistreat her like a stuff animal  . I'm very happy to see her living happily in your house and hope she enjoys the rest of her life with you.

And now you are sure that she is a Tamaskan?

Sorry that I am asking but in Germany are so many people which named their dogs Tamaskan and they are surely no Tamaskans!
It makes me very angry because some of them sell also their puppies as Tamaskans at that makes me very angry!!

We are not 100% certain but it is a possibility because there are a couple of breeding pairs of Tamaskan Dogs in Texas so this dog could be related (either the direct offspring or the next generation down). That is why we suggested the DNA profile, so then we can know for sure. :)

We never said that we are 100% sure whether or not the dog is a Tamaskan so like Debby said, until the dog has been DNA profiled no one knows. But one thing is for sure, the dog has been adopted and is now living with a caring family.
