That's sad :(
It's not the first Tamaskan that gets rehomed because of SA. I hope he finds a good home soon.

What to expect when you do not take the trouble to properly socialize their puppies or sell too early ?

This litter has merely served as sole benefit human, already done with a father who was not emotionally stable (otherwise would have needed a few months ....) and it is the animals who will suffer .. ..
After the father, it was the turn of son...

My Sam was properly socialized with stable parents, Odin is lovely... But he still has sever sa. It is something the potential owners need to be made aware of... Not that it will happen but it is a possibility.

See... Sam doesn't realize how lucky he is that i have time to work with him and he doesn't appreciate it ;) I hope Johnny finds a home where he can have his issues worked through... I feel so bad for all the owners who have had to return their pups because of some issue or another... They were promised fantastic dogs (which most people do get to be fair), they will probably never buy another Tamaskan again... never know the joy and love you receive :(

Oh crap, this is very upsetting as it tarnishes the breed's description as being a family-oriented dog but what I'm more concern about are the dogs being rehomed as they get sent to one home after another. It can get pretty stressful for the dogs. :(

totally agree with susan on this one. lexi has severe s/a and we would never part with her she is also 1yr and its getting better.
and lucas i am with you on the stress that it causes these babys and i think it will possibly make the s/a worse.
lets hope they find the right people and get the time to grow into the lovely dogs we all know they can be. i think tamaskan are like a fine wine "get better with age" maybe we could add this to the description of a tamaskan. :D

I can only speak for my own on this, but it looks like the SA passes as the Tam ages and gets more sure of her (or him) self. Boredom seems to take over (same result with some destruction following, not unlike a Husky). Training, training, training is the key :)

Nova has never ever had any SA :D
Maccon has SA but it's getting better. We can leave him for an hour or two, together with the other dogs, without him doing anything.. no chewing no nothing. But if he didn't get better, I would found other ways for him if we had to leave him alone. Giving up on him is not in my world. :D
