I decided to design my own, using different elements of other tattoos... it's still a work in progress though! :)

I'm designing a wolf tattoo, which will probably go on my neck. I don't want it to be too large but the detail can't be too intricate either. So far I've combined elements of 2 different designs that I like... but I'll probably leave the final version up to the tattoo artist to perfect since my artistic skills are somewhat limited. My design will be just to give a starting point / idea of what I want - I'll let the one with real talent take over! ;)

Awesome design... would only need some minor modifications to make it a good tattoo (shading, etc) - what about one in red and one in black? with "Riker & Rogue" written underneath... :)

Be very careful, I wouldnt go higher than shoulder blade or shoulder, many people take a distaste of anyone with a tattoo that cannot be hidden i.e. on neck
I have a neighbour that is very high up in recruitment who will not employ anyone that has a showing tattoo no matter how talented the person is.(jerk)

as much as my body is decorated, they can all be hidden if required, luckily I am in a career that is judged by what I know, not by my appearance, I work for a large corporation but can still walk into the office in jeans & t-shirt, long hair, tattoo's showing and still be judged by my output performance which is the way it should be and when out on the oil rig it seems strange if you do not have tattoo's, scars etc.

others do not have this view and if they see a tattoo on a guy, never mind a girl they throw a wobbler (freeky).

live and let live, head out to hawaii and tattoo's are the hawaiin culture

Yep, I've thought about it but I figure that if it's on my neck, behind my ear, it could be more-or-less covered when my hair is down. All my other tattoos are in locations that can be easily hidden... anyway, I won't go too extreme and get sleeves or anything like that - but there are many successful men and women these days who sport such tattoos so I'm not too worried. It's more and more socially acceptable and employers are (generally) becoming more open-minded... at least some of the younger generations.

Anyway, I wouldn't want to work for someone like that... judging people based on appearance alone, rather than ability or talent is ridiculous and outdated - I'd rather take my expertise elsewhere! Their loss, not mine! ;)

Ok, hadn't seen this thread yet! I only have one, and can't really get a picture of it right now since I am at work. It's a rose on my thigh that I got back when I was in the military. I know, I should be more creative....I have been wanting to get it changed for some time now. Maybe that should be my birthday present to myself! Now, what to get????????????

Nice to see all the tats! I am working on design ideas for my first tattoo...sooo excited and nervous! It is wolf related (of course). I am not a great artist, so my sketches are not satisfactory, but I think I've finally decided on a really neat idea and I can't wait to see it done by a real artist! (and on my skin:D)
It has been a long time coming, I've had these vague ideas floating around in my head for years but I've finally really been focusing on it and I'm starting to solidify the idea. I'm living in a bigger city for 4 months and I've decided that I'm going to get it done while I'm here, because there are some great artists to choose from (plus it's an adventurous time in my life so I might as well roll with it!).
I'll post pictures once it's done!

Does anyone have any possible ideas that they've seen for a tattoo in remembrance of a lost pet? I was thinking of getting one for Odin, I've always wanted a tattoo but just never had anything really meaningful to warrant a permanent mark on my body lol....but now I do, but I'm having trouble finding ideas on the internet. I was thinking something small, maybe at the nape of my neck. Any ideas :D?

that is a beautiful idea - it could just be something simple, like his name, and/or perhaps a wolf totem (guardian spirit) image.
I quite like this design... but maybe with the letters ODIN forming the shape of his body? that would be really unique and special.

I'm looking for some opinions on this. I want to get another wolf tattoo and like both of these. I spoke to the local tattoo artist about the top one and we agreed that I might like it better more shaded than solid black and he thinks it should lose the paw print on its back. There is a link on deviant art where it has actually been tattooed on someone and it doesnt look that good, but I dont know if it is because it has been done at the top of the arm so the image is not straight on. Anyway, I had another look and found the stalking wolf. I think it is by the same artist as logo for the Tamaskan Germany facebook page. Its a bit cartooney but I really like it, though would probably have the eyes either in grey or possibly yellow with maybe a bit more shading here and there. I want to have it done on my inner forearm.. They are both from the deviant art page, which there is a link to on page one of this thread. Any thoughts anyone?

Well, I went for the second one in the end. I had it done last Tuesday. He has changed it a bit and put in some shading, and I went for yellow eyes in the end. I am really happy with it and will put up a pic once it has finished healing :) Tattoos are quite addictive, as soon as you get one you want another one, so who knows. My others are quite old and faded now. I was very pleased with the artist, and would definitely use him again. I was a little nervous about using him as all my older ones, and my husband's and son's, were done by the same guy in Glasgow so it was a bit of a worry using someone new. It was a very good service though, even got a cup of tea and a cigarette :) Also he went and got a set of felt tip pens so I could try different colours for the eyes before he actually did the inking :)

It looks great in real life, the shading is really good and the yellow eyes look amazing.
You must post pics soon, and of your other tattoos too! :)

I will put up pics in a few days once it has healed more. It is quite flaky at the moment, and looks as if the wolf is casting its coat

OK, here they all are. The rose, the celtic wolf and the phoenix are are pretty old and faded. The rose was the first in 1994 with the others a year or two later. The stalking wolf was a week and a half ago, so may still have the silvery look which will fade. They are all on my arms except the phoenix which is on my back.

they all look good as faded as they are (look better than my old and faded ones).

Great tattoos... even the faded ones still look really nice, but the new one is especially stunning - love it!! :D
