"Pimp our Banner" Competition

Post by Sylvaen » Sun Jun 19, 2011 9:16 am

Dear forum members,

Starting on Monday (20th June) the "Pimp our Banner" Competition will be open for entries! The competition is to design a special edition of our forum banner. All forum members are invited (and encouraged) to enter!

To participate, just start with the following template, which matches the background colors and required size for our forum:
site_logo.jpg
For this competition, we're looking for a nice, professional banner that represents the forum as an official TDR-affiliated entity: an design that is both impressive and eye-catching. Your banner can be anything to do with: Tamaskan Dogs / wolves / summer or related themes - it’s totally up to YOU!

Just make sure to include the following text:
Title: International Tamaskan Forum
Website URL: www.tamaskan-forum.com

Aside from these limitations you are free to chose the font, placement of the text, colors, any pictures, etc. as long as the banner is related to our forum content (Tamaskan Dogs). Please keep in mind that the banners should not be signed or watermarked! The official TDR logo can be used, but is not a requirement.

Please post your entries in this thread (each member may enter up to 2 banners) - the competition will be closed for new entries as of Monday, July 4th! We will then hold a vote for the winner to give all forum members a chance to vote for their favorite banner. The voting period will last for 1 week and will close on Monday (July 11th). The winning banner will then be displayed as our forum's official banner for the next few months! :)

Have fun!! :D

With kind regards,
The TDR Committee

In the past it has been allowed to use pictures from the tamaskan-dog.com site :)
Not sure about the facebook page or other peoples pictures - think private pictures (uploaded) would be polite to ask first
but I cannot Imagine anyone saying no

If I were to use any privately uploaded photos I would of course ask first :)

I'll try and give it go LOL but I'm not very good at these things LOL

Yep, if they are posted on the public Tamaskan facebook page, etc.
If the pics are owned by individuals, better to ask permission first - just to be safe. ;)

Here is a quick contribution... I made when I took a break for lunch... Not sure if the background was to remain green or not. I have it with a green background too if so.

Looks good. You should put up the one with the green background for comparison.

I agree, I think the blue makes it summery
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Perhaps yellow flowers would work better then, or a combination of colours rather than just white. I still think the blue is better than the green.

They might be a little small to tell but they are dandelions spreading their seeds so I kept them white...

An Indian summer is just a term for a late summer mainly in September/October when it is much warmer than usual. It is an English saying so dont know if it is a saying in other countries?

Yes, you are right of course, Indian summer there is in autumn. I wanted to express only with the fact that I love the colours.
Please, Indian summer glide. Then it just looks like a hot summer. 8-)
