Yarrow Videos

Post by Kootenaywolf » Wed Apr 17, 2013 10:38 pm

For anyone who is interested, here is some of the training stuff we've been working on lately!

Some clips from this morning, mostly working on some foundation heeling type stuff. Most of this is really new, as of last night (flip finish, pivoting without him standing on a mark, backing up, etc)

His hilarious interpretation of "bang"! (just started working on it that day)

Started trying to shape "be shy"...this is a bit of that. Pretty cute boy :)

Gotta admit, your Yarrow is very good at reducing my stress during this exam week. Even though he's all the way in British Columbia.

Yes, great stress reducer :D Does his white patch on his chest resemble a heart shape to anyone else? Or just me... :D

How do you even begin to do the "bang" one? I once attempted to have Sam go through my legs but my legs are too short and we had difficulty

There’s a battle between two wolves inside us all.
One is Evil. It’s anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego.
The other is Good. It’s joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness and truth.

The wolf that wins? The one you feed!

~ Cherokee Proverb

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity... I'm not sure about the former.

He is so funny! Loved "bang bang." He's so dramatic!

Start with them laying down already. You can either shape or lure - I find if you make them figure it out by shaping, it tends to stick a bit better and they won't rely on your hints as much! Sometimes I cheat a bit and help them out luring a bit to get them started, then once they make any effort in that direction at all, mark and reward. Then ask for a bit more. Pretty soon they should figure it out and start offering it consistently. Then you can try from a sit, and then eventually from standing. Yarrow figures things out REALLY fast, so we progressed to doing it from standing within one session.

And I have no idea why he added in the head twists and general drama! Pretty hilarious.

Yes, his white patch is totally heart shaped :D
