What is a Boston Terrier person doin on a Tamaskan forum?

Post by ChenB » Fri Jan 18, 2013 1:59 am

Hi everyone.

I wanted to say hello and introduce myself....

My name is Chen, I love dogs. Always have, always will.
They are part of me.
I own 3 Boston's Una Poe and Tayto.
My favorite activities include obedience training, agility, scent and rally.

Why am I on a Tamaskan forum?

I personally feel that hybrid wolf crosses should not be pets.
For years I always romanticized about a working dog that had the appearance of a wolf, but was not a hybrid.

I would never think about being a breeder, I know how much work and funds good breeding takes. Plus I don't know enough about genetics...dog behavior yes... Genetic? Not so much. haha

But if I ever won the lottery that would have been a "life goal" create a dog breed that looks like a wolf.

I got into Boston's because my heart dog, Nuntah (a husky mix) "moved on". After he passed I was devastated, So I chose a breed that would not remind me of him.

They are great little dogs, brilliant, sweet, and so much fun! I do obedience, agility, scent work, rally and therapy dog work with them. Certainly big dogs in little bodies.

But truth be told I miss my big dog. My big dog that people always mistook for a wolf. Haha.
I was telling a coworker about it and she had asked me if I ever heard of a new breed called.... You guessed it...TAMASKAN! (Sorry it took so long to get to the point)

I was like no... What is it... She said it is a dog that looks like a wolf with no wolf content. I nearly hit the deck.... I laughed to myself thinking " hey that was MY idea" heehee.... I know I could hardly be the only person who thought of developing such a breed.

So I researched and read and read..... And I have been quite taken with the progress and dedication the TDR has been putting fourth to "do it right".

I am far from looking to getting a new dog but I am certainly keeping my finger on the pulse of this beautiful breed. Because I am fairly certain my next dog is going to be a Tamaskan. :)

I look forward to reading about all of your experiences with Tams.

There’s a battle between two wolves inside us all.
One is Evil. It’s anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego.
The other is Good. It’s joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness and truth.

The wolf that wins? The one you feed!

I was a bit confused since Toronto is the capital of Ontario and I assume that means you've only been here once. There's no way you could have been here more and only been in the province once...

Well neighbour, you're welcome to visit Toronto whenever you please. :D Although at the moment the Tamaskan living the closest to Toronto is a male name Logan in Mississauga.
