BLUSTAG LITTLE BEAR (SKYE)

Post by Blustag » Sun Sep 11, 2011 2:08 pm

It is with utter sadness and no words to describe how I feel right now but Skye was killed early this morning in a total tragic accident. I tried so hard to save him but couldnt. Please dont ask me how he died but it was here at home. Maybe sometime I will be able to talk about it but right now I am heartbroken. He was my beautiful big boy and I am going to miss him so much.

i know words don't help at this point (and i'm not too good with them anyway) but, Lynn, Jennie, i'm so sorry to hear that. everyone of us hear believe you did your best to the fullest. R.I.P skye. Thinking about you both  X

Edit:

My dear friends I wish I could say, you will see your boy another day.

But alas, it will not be, but over the bridge is where he will be.

Oh my god :(, I don't even know what to say. I'm so sorry for your loss Lynn, Jennie, and Finley, Skye was SO handsome and I am thankful that he was at least able to produce such a beautiful litter with Nev one last time to further his gorgeous traits in the breed.
I wish you all the best and I know that you did everything you could possibly have done to give him a fighting chance.

Thankyou all you guys for your kindness and your thoughts. I just cant get over this as you see it was 'my' fault. When one loses a beloved pet through illness it is somewhat different. I have lost through illness over the years of course but this is just TRAGIC. I cant forgive myself and am contstantly in pain. I will never get over this and feel so damn guilty. Thankyou so much for your personal emails they mean a lot to me. xx

an accident's an accident. you can't put your self at fault weather it be true or not unless you can say you did it on purpose which i don't believe for a second... you must forgive your self because the loss of syke is punishment enough without kicking your self while you're down. early days, give it time ;)

I totally agree with the above..

It won't help anyone that you beat yourself up about it.

I agree too....
Accidents do happen ... and both you and all of us know that you want nothing but the best for your dogs..

I did "wrong" for a few years ago and my cat had to pay for my stupidity with his life ... You blame yourself, of course, and it took time to get over, anxiety and guilt were tough .. but you have to let time heal the wounds.

Take care of yourself now Lynn and try not to be to hard on yourself ..

PS:
Thank you Skye ..for giving us Maccon :D

As it was stated Lynn, an accident was named because they are just that, accidents. They happen and there is nothing you can do to prevent them sometimes. You must know that Skye loved you dearly, and ALL of the tamaskan community is here to support you! :)

I cant thank you guys enough and for the personal emails. I am still in so much pain and hurt over this. I keep going over the what if this what if I had done that, and please let this just be a nightmare I am going to wake up from but I know I wont. My dogs are my life and always have been and always will be. I am managing now to let a couple of people know the full story of how events unfolded but it is truly hard.

talking to, even just 1 person will help a great deal, better than keeping it all in and stewing alone... no one can doubt your dogs are and always have been your life... just get thru 1 day at a time and stop the what if's eh? they don't help...

take care lynn

I agree don't bottle it up and don't do the what ifs. I don't think there is any one on here who doughts your love and dedication to your dogs. We are all human and make mistakes or misjudge things most of the time nothing major happens, but unfortunately every now and then we pay for those mistakes more than we deserve.

I don't know if this story will help but I once knew a dad who was watching planes with his young daughter. She asked him what would they do if one crashed he answered that they would run. She looked through binoculars at a plane and then ran thinking it was closer than it was. Unfortunately she ran across a road into a car and was killed. I hope I have not upset anyone, but I thought it showed how a sequence of events could have an outcome out of preportion to what was said or done. The dad was not to blame just as you are not Lynn. Keep strong.
