Show results Mila

Post by Gaby » Mon Apr 16, 2012 8:32 pm

Yesterday I took Mila to a show for unrecognised breeds, cross breeds and other dogs. The judge knew the breeds or crosses that would come, so she judged the dogs by their standards, if they had any. And the Tamaskan surely does, and she was very excited to see one! For the winner at the show she looked at confirmation and the way they where build.

We got the second place out of nine dogs! :D She had a difficult time choosing between the first and the second, but Mila was young and did never any ringtraining, just like me, so we totally did not know what we where supposed to do. So it was my fault we came in second, lol. When I took her to training, I would be first, the judge told me, so that was nice. She would like to see her back next year. ;) And she wanted me to give compliments to the breeder for such an excellent type of dog! ;) It was a very nice experience, and we got a bag of dogfood, a bag with all doggy things and treats and even a medal. :D I hope somebody else took pictures, I couldn't because I was busy with Mila in the ring. If I find pictures I will post them!

This was her show report:
Judge: Mrs. B. ten Hacken

Fourteen-month-old bitch of excellent type. Pretty wedge shaped and straight head, good eyes, correct colour. Excellent ear shape and position. Strong teeth, complete scissor bite.
Strong neck, good topline, good shoulder position, sufficient bone, proper feet, good belly. For the age good muscle development. Well angulated hindquarters, good low to the ground hocks.
Excellent coat and markings. Walking in the right gait. In trot the typical gait for the breed.
Excellent character, very attentive. Compliments for the caregiver.

:D So proud of my little girl!

Thank you!! Yes, it was very nice, some people already knew the breed and liked it to see one. I can't attend most shows, they are mostly at Sunday morning and than I go to the dogschool, so this was the first one I could attend and it was nearby, also nice. ;)

Well done! :D
Hopefully I can do some shows again next year. I was hearing the same thing over and over again, 'she needs to fill out', so I thought it was better to give her some more time to fill out

You already told me I should go, so when I saw this show started at 1 pm at Sunday I just had to go!
I am very curious what the results will be with Konah now, she did fill out nicely, and she is very pretty and build good. She had a "teenager look" a long time, really unlike Mila, who almost looks grown up at the age of one, very funny to see the differences in the breed. Although you can certainly see they look like each other when the are together.

That's awesome!
DKK (Danish Kennel Club) have started doing parts of their shows for mixed breeds, breeds that aren't recognized and pure breds with fault excluding them from normal shows (like monorchism) I would really have liked to go to the one that is the 24th of June on Sjælland (maybe even with Hellan) - but this is the time I'm planning comming home from Canada so I think after a 11-15 hour trip I might not be up for a show.

I would love to get the possibility to attend a show like the one you have in the Netherlands - how often are they made? :)
