Re: The "other" wolf content issue

I was merely correcting the several posts chiming in that the correct term is "wolfdog." ---It's not. One post in this thread detailed that since they interbreed and dog is a subspecies then they are the same species and not a hybrid. I should probably have quoted specific posts to be clearer =) By ...

Re: The "other" wolf content issue

I completely agree with the first post. If I had adopted one as was originally planned I'd be LIVID. One can read my introduction a couple months ago and see why. Wolves are hurt by being in captivity. This is fact. Any ethical wolf-dog rescuer has seen the signs of stress in high-content animals or...

Re: Hello From The USA

If it helps, I'm the roomate in question =D I trust SheJackal when it comes to dogs and was telling her a lot about the dogs on this forum. I asked her to join so that we could talk more about them as I'm evaluating which lines i would like to look at etc.

Re: Wolf and Dog paintings/portraits

Thank you for the kind comments! I have seen Goldenwolfs stuff, I absolutely love her jay-wolf picture. I'm flattered by the comparison! I'm fairly active in the "furry" community under this name and have been lucky to meet DarkNatasha in person at a couple conventions, she's a very sweet person! I ...

Re: indestructible frisbees?

I've had fairly good luck with this one: http://www.amazon.com/Petstages-231-ORKA-Flyer/dp/B001FK46KY/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1335387312&sr=8-19 It takes a learning curve to throw and will never fly quite as well as a regular frisbee but I've had mine for nearly a year and to give you an idea of dur...

Re: Albino Dogs

Actually, there ARE albino dogs. There's a couple dog sites out there that look very authorative that claim that albinism is defined as tyrosine-negative but that information is long out-dated. There are tyrosine-positive forms as well, and it's no longer considered useful to distinguish between the...

Re: Winter (Blustag Golden Boy)

Beautiful! I admit I first read that topic asking about the white tamaskan and thought to myself that it would look too much like a white GSD, but boy is the creme a sight to see! Beautiful pup there.

Wolf and Dog paintings/portraits

I mentioned in my intro thread that I do artwork, i thought I'd share a couple of my favorites that I thought you guys might like, since canines (especially wolfy ones) are my favorite things to draw =D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v721/stormslegacy/starwolfpost.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/a...

Weight?

I was curious after reading the height thread, how much do your tamaskans weigh? (Particularly adults) I know that the size seems to be all over the place right now in the breed, how big would y'all say is currently average? I noticed with mine and my roomate's dogs that size doesn't always make tha...

Re: Hello from western Massachusetts, USA

That is tempting, but the only way I could justify the cost of getting out there is if I could vend (My housemate and I do pet portraits and animal-related art). Maybe next year? I would really like to meet breeders and the breed in person. Kylievr, my housemate owns an awesome cattle dog, I do like...

Re: Hello from western Massachusetts, USA

Thank you all for your welcomes =D Rico has fairly good recall, though we're working on a reactivity issue with him which can sometimes affect it. A second dog wouldn't be added until we have that under control. We rescued Rico at a year old with no obedience what-so-ever, so we're still working out...

Hello from western Massachusetts, USA

Hello! My name is Michelle and I am here from western MA. I am joining to learn more information on this lovely breed. I am looking to get a second dog sometime next year or so, and thought it best to research now. I have a 2 year-old pit/shepherd mix that I love dearly and would eventually like to ...
