Re: Up and coming breeders discussion

I was on MyDogDNA.com trying to order the DNA test, but they don't ship tests to the United States or allow for U.S. billing addresses. (!) I think it has to do with a deal with Mars Veterinary (they wrote a press release about how they were partnering to reach the U.S.). I'd like to test Halifax, a...

Re: WOLF CONTENT

Sylvaen your litter Lupo X Zora also contains wolf content in them, because LUPO is a wolfdog. Is anything wrong with that? Would new owners have problems because there is a wolf in each puppy? Sylvaen said as much on their FB page. They said that pups from that litter were only going to experience...

Re: Up and coming breeders discussion

Right. I know it gets dicier because of the wolf content. But supposedly the same rule applies to CSW as Tamaskans--they're technically considered a breed, so they're not "wolves." (CSW even have a stronger leg to stand on than Tamaskans in that regard, because the AKC considers them a breed, and I ...

Wow. They look SO similar. You can totally tell that they live in different climates due to their coats. :D

Re: Up and coming breeders discussion

Not to distract from the question about behavior testing (see above!)--but I have met a Czech wolfdog owner in the U.S. who might be interested in introducing their male as a Tamaskan outcross. I know that there was concern in Europe over that same issue, but from what I've read on the forum, the No...

Re: My Social Media war against RPK

This is related-but-not, does anyone have any idea whether this is a new RPK account? I suspect that it is, and that they're hoping to increase their Instagram presence. The reason I suspect it's them is because of the sole #blutsag hashtag and the group puppy shots. https://www.instagram.com/nylaht...

Re: My Social Media war against RPK

I'm doing a bit of the same thing! (You inspired me, @rhadamant. I've seen your posts on Reddit and so appreciated when I came across them.) While I think there's benefit at kindly correcting people when they praise Blustag/RPK on social media (as I've seen a lot of people do on FB), I think there's...

Re: Up and coming breeders discussion

I realized there's another question I need to ask. Since Halifax's dam, Sharayah, is an outcross, I'll need a dog behaviorist to certify Halifax's temperament, too. Is there a particular behavior test required by the TDR? Sorry if I'm asking a question that may seem obvious to others, but I've been ...

Re: Up and coming breeders discussion

I hope this is the right thread to post this under... but we are looking forward to breeding our dog, Halifax, in the future, pending test results and proper scores. (She's out of Oslett's Sharayah and Sylvaen's Pika.) I've read a lot on this forum and on the TDR site, but have been unable to find i...

Aw. Halifax's dad says she's not allowed to date until she's 16 (in people years), but I vote they should meet sometime! Not one to stand in the way of puppy love. :P

Re: Hello from Toronto!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! Echo was particularly hard to crate train, she's got a lot of separation anxiety. If that separation anxiety came from Sharayah and not Echo's father Jaeger, then you're likely going to have a pup that has a bit of separation anxiety too. On the other hand Echo is s...

Hello from Toronto!

Hi there, everyone! As a new owner of a Tamaskan, I've been reading through the old threads on this forum for a while. It's been super informative and I've appreciated all the education about the breed's development, etc. It was quite confusing at first trying to learn about Tamaskans online (since ...
