I remember when I was researching raw diets, the recommendation I kept seeing was to feed them 2% of their target body weight per day and then adjust up or down if they were getting too heavy or staying too thin. So if you want her at 30kg, you'd feed .6kg a day.

Like Tatzel said, don't overfeed if you want to help in preventing hip dysplasia. You should always be able to feel your dog's ribs and hips and see a waist.

So Kumho is 8 months old now, time for some updated pictures! It was also an excuse to play around with a new camera. Went down to a local lake to see what he thought about swimming. Kumho is almost 8 months old and is 61 pounds and somewhere between 24 and 25 inches tall. Can't get him to stand still for a more accurate measurement.

Seems expensive for a raw diet. Are you feeding the prepackaged stuff? We feed ours raw and it only costs about $100 a month. Granted it's mostly chicken because it's cheap but he doesn't seem to mind at all.

Loki has been put on Revolution, which is supposed to control fleas, ticks, mange mites, roundworm, ear mites and prevent heartworm. It contains selamectin, which is safe for cats. Don't know how much I would trust Revolution for tick control in dogs, since it's only labeled to be effective against...

I heard the problem with Frontline was it could take as long as 15 hours to kill ticks once they started feeding. We were recommended to use Advantix or Vectra, which have a much faster kill time, but both contain permethrin which is dangerous to cats.

We use raw liver for training treats. Boiled, then baked, then cut into cubes and frozen in batches until needed. Kumho will do just about anything for them.

If you use Interceptor (Milbemycin is the drug in it) as your monthly heartworm preventative, it has the added bonus of getting rid of immature whipworms, hookworms and roundworms as well. Almost one stop deworming.
