How many Tams in the world
How many Tams in the world
I'm curious - does anybody know how many purebred Tamaskans are there in the world?
(I couldn't find a number here.)

Soon to be 1 maybe 2 more in canada...but I guess that doesn't count yet

Re: How many Tams in the world
And many many in Germany
. But the most certainly live in the UK. Ask Lynn and Jennie, whether they can still count them all

Re: How many Tams in the world
I once bumped into a couple of ladies who recognised Saga as a Tamaskan as they had seen one a few days before, that owner told them there was about 500 in the world (no idea if this is true or not). They wondered off saying only 498 left to go

Re: How many Tams in the world
Surprisingly enough I would say 90% or more of our litters get exported so there are not a huge amount in the UKMIKA wrote:And many many in Germany. But the most certainly live in the UK. Ask Lynn and Jennie, whether they can still count them all

I am still getting enquiries from the Far East but I am not sending any out that way and doubt I ever will.
Re: How many Tams in the world
Thank you for the aswers. Ideed, it seems this breed is more rare than I imagined:)
So, Blustag, is there no way to find out how many Tams are kept in the UK? I thought that you might know from the Registry.

Is there a way to get this number from the TDR registry? That would at least give us the number of registered dogs.

Here, this might help.
http://www.tamaskan-dog.eu/
Click on "countries" and scroll down to view the chart.
It's a pie chart from the EuroTamaskan website showing the distribution of european Tamaskans.
It doesn't show actual numbers, just distribution density. Still *someone* must have the actual count to be able to compile distribution data. (Of course, it doesn't count the Tamaskans in North America or Australia.)

Have you thought about creating a google map, where you could place yourselves? We have it with CSWs in Czech Rep. and I think it is interesting to see where are the closes same breed neighbors:)

You could just place a mark in the nearest city, I thought it might be nice to see where Tams can be found in the world. No need for precise adress. I can see your worries.

in hear, in the tam community, we should be able to share details without wondering who is spying. in the FB group, the TDR members were accused of spying (not that there is any need because info flows freely even to me), but all the info he has because of his spying... even knowing to changer his pic on FB on his "ronnie marsh" profile shows he has been hear over nite...

yeah, katlin ws supposed to be gettin tundra but because of what he saw on the forum he backed out http://www.tamaskan-forum.com/viewtopic ... 1&start=80
well, i was hoping it's because of what he saw like he made out, not because of a more sinister reason like the last breeding he wanted from her was not to much...
