How many Tams in the world

I'm curious - does anybody know how many purebred Tamaskans are there in the world?
(I couldn't find a number here.)

I once bumped into a couple of ladies who recognised Saga as a Tamaskan as they had seen one a few days before, that owner told them there was about 500 in the world (no idea if this is true or not). They wondered off saying only 498 left to go

Surprisingly enough I would say 90% or more of our litters get exported so there are not a huge amount in the UK

I have a pup on order to Slovenia and one for Switzerland with more to The Netherlands, Denmark and Germany so they are certainly spreading around. Oh and two going out to Australia

I am still getting enquiries from the Far East but I am not sending any out that way and doubt I ever will.

So, Blustag, is there no way to find out how many Tams are kept in the UK? I thought that you might know from the Registry.

I'm hoping they are living in a house they own though - I wouldn't wanna live in Copenhagen with a Tamaskan if it was me
- but then again I didn't much enjoy living in Copenhagen at all

Yes Oslo. The problem is that I dont know everyone's username on here so
it is sometimes difficult to know who is who

It's a pie chart from the EuroTamaskan website showing the distribution of european Tamaskans.

It doesn't show actual numbers, just distribution density. Still *someone* must have the actual count to be able to compile distribution data. (Of course, it doesn't count the Tamaskans in North America or Australia.)

Aha.. no I don't know of any Tamaskan in Norway. So Sölves sister lives in Kristiansand? Nice.. =)It's on the west coast of Norway. I live about 80 km from the border of Norway, Svinesund, if you drive the E6. Between Göteborg and Strömstad.
Is she a member on the forum? or Facebook? I am born in Norway, my parents and my brother still lives there!
(hopefully in the near future I will move to Karlstad)

Have you thought about creating a google map, where you could place yourselves? We have it with CSWs in Czech Rep. and I think it is interesting to see where are the closes same breed neighbors:)

Thought about it, but when there is people like "you know who" out there, I don't really want to put my adress (or even my town) anywhere

i kinda guessed thats what you ment

it's a tad frustrating that those worries are needed tho. not been able to disclose your location in fear of what will happen to your dogs... esp the breeders or future breeders who i believe are more "at risk".

in hear, in the tam community, we should be able to share details without wondering who is spying. in the FB group, the TDR members were accused of spying (not that there is any need because info flows freely even to me), but all the info he has because of his spying... even knowing to changer his pic on FB on his "ronnie marsh" profile shows he has been hear over nite...

You mean the owner of Right Puppy Kennel visits this forum?

I can't swear here but he sure as !&$@ stalks this forum! He constantly sent me screenshots of my own words and after a huge struggle took my money and bolted. He makes many accounts under a program called hidemyass which generates many IP addresses, making him impossible to track.
