Weight?

Post by Stormslegacy » Wed Apr 25, 2012 2:32 am

I was curious after reading the height thread, how much do your tamaskans weigh? (Particularly adults)

I know that the size seems to be all over the place right now in the breed, how big would y'all say is currently average?

I noticed with mine and my roomate's dogs that size doesn't always make that much of a difference, because personality can be a big factor--she has a 70 pound dog that might as well be 30 pounds, but my 65 pound pitbull seems like he can fill a room because of his boundless energy! Do you feel that your dog is a "big" dog?

(please forgive my American-centric use of the imperial, I'm not good with metric)

My Tamaskan Konah weighs around 29 kg, she is a tall girl (70 cm shoulderheight), she is still a bit on the 'skinny' side.

Wow. Raven's a big girl! ;) Do you think she'll be bigger than her mom, Freyja?

I think she might be. One other girl was as big as Raven: Cha Ta. Cha Ta is also the same size. But who knows, maybe they'll just even out. We tried really hard to even out the litter when they were newborns, but those two darn girls just stayed bigger than all the rest. They were "White" and "Yellow" ribbons as babies.

Kuhmo hit 50 pounds at 6 months. I'm sure he'd be even more than that if we fed him to his liking.

Haha, Zephyr would be heavy if I fed him to his liking too. Don't want to over tax his growing bones and muscles though :)

Exactly. They'll be plenty of time to fatten him up later. I told him I'd make it up to him when he was older. :)

Little Paka just hit 44 lbs and Fable made it to 48, just behind him!

Wave is 98lbs and not food motivated at all. He is "ribby" not overweight..... His fur is long & full and that makes him look even bigger.
Most people are shocked that he "only" weighs 98lbs.

Oh my! Lisa--Raven must have gotten her size from Uncle Wave!
Raven was 57 pounds last night. She'll be 6 months old in a couple of weeks.
