bark as if no one can hear you
catch the ball on the fly
lick like there's no end to kissing
sleep on a sofa nearby
jump like the sky is the limit
sit by the fire with friends
stay with the ones who love you
run like the road never ends

Re: Official breed recognition by the ARBA!
Well done to everyone who made this possible... all the hard work has finally paid off!
This is a huge step forward for the breed as a whole, and another step closer to official worldwide recognition... all legitimate TDR registered Tamaskan Dogs (with the new TDR registration paperwork) are now eligible to compete in ARBA shows (in America) and, in the near future, at UCI shows (in Europe).
In addition to being the first step toward future AKC / FCI recognition, ARBA registration permits an Open Studbook, which is vital for this breed-in-progress to maintain genetic variety and diverse bloodlines... win:win situation.

Re: Official breed recognition by the ARBA!
With minor apologies to the late William Shakespeare:
Be in overflowing bowls freshly rememb'red.
This story shall the good owner teach his dog;
And Great Tamaksans shall ne'er go by
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered -
We few, we happy few, we pack of Tamaksans;
For he to-day that shares his bone with me,
Shall be my pack-mate; be he ne'er reviled,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And fancy dogs about the world now-a-bed,
Shall think them selves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their bloodline cheap while any speaks
That showed with us upon Tamaskan Day.
Mark
When I yelled for joy at the announcement, Kona walked up and started licking my face!
In Thanksgiving this day for the most wonderful news and the most wonderful dog!

Re: Official breed recognition by the ARBA! A practical note
In my more serious moments, remember to have the appropriate authorities update the Wikipedia page!
NO LONGER APPLIESThe Tamaskan Dog is a crossbred dog of sleddog type, originating from Finland, and unrecognized by any major dog fancier and pedigree registry organizations.

Finally the breed has been recognized. I do hope that more other clubs allowing open stud-books will also recognize this breed so that it will continue to grow with more genetic diveristy

It's a HUGE application process. Folks would have to take that on themselves. Groups don't approach you and just ask.Tiantai wrote:Finally the breed has been recognized.
