Puppy behaviour towards stranger dogs

Post by fabricious » Thu Apr 20, 2017 12:33 pm

Hi everyone!

I was curious whether there is a certain trend in Tamaskan puppy behaviour towards stranger, adult dogs. So far I found that the Northern breeds tend to be more submissive at first towards strangers, whereas there seems to be more of an open, careless behaviour seen in, say, retrievers or pointer type dogs. Obviously it is nothing that can be put on them as a label, but I would love to read your experiences! Thanks!

Best regards,

Wylie as a puppy was a bit submissive but quickly grew confidant.

Thanks for the reply! I am really curious about how other have experienced it as well. I might/might not be getting a Tamaskan puppy next year, if everything goes well, and I would love to get at least a sense of how well they do being introduced to the extended pack (a.k.a. the dogs in our circle of friends). :)

Yes, the natural reaction for a young Tamaskan pup is to act submissively / subordinately towards larger unfamilar dogs. :)

Alright, I figured as much. It sounds like the typical northern/wolfy reaction (which is a good idea, haha). Thanks Debby! :)
