But that would mean not only the tests from Labokin are not accurate, but also not the tests from Van Haeringen (lab here in Holland). The University of Utrecht and the genetic specialist Paul Mandiger have validaded the test for DM (for the Saarloos).

There are some questions about the results of the Czechs of Molly. Only her dogs has the problem or mutation of the DM gen or whatever. Also not the whole litter is tested for their DNA.

So people do not know what to believe (also because she is the same person with the red Czechs). Best is to make DNA of the whole litter and do testing by other labs.

I do hope the tests from other labs are accurate

woah.... that is really crazy!! :o

I can only imagine that either the test is not accurate (seems unlikely to me) or the DNA results don't match up with the right dogs (more likely). In this situation it is more probable that human error / intervention is to blame, rather than the scientific tests, which are proven to work and follow the basic principles of genetics and biology. I can only guess that somehow the wrong DNA was obtained (from the wrong dogs) - either accidentally or perhaps to hide the true bloodlines; the DM results could provide conclusive evidence that the DNA parentage isn't correct. Otherwise the implications are VERY scary, for all dog breeders worldwide. If the DM tests are inaccurate or have room for error, it would mean that the whole concept of DM testing would go out the window. Since this is only the case with ONE particular breeder and there are so many other factors involved, I'm inclined to believe that it is NOT a specific genetic mutation... otherwise the laboratories should throughly investigate those particular dogs!!

Well I know there have been questions about Molly her breeding dogs. People believe they might not be 100% Czechs.. But I don't think she knows about this, if she would have done any breeding with Saarloos (or other dogs) she would try to hide it and putting up pictures of 'strange colored' pups and DM results like this don't make any sense then ;)

Is there anyway of checking if anyone else, other than Molly, have had results which do not conform?

Only Molly so far. But maybe now it is in the open, more people come forward.
On the other hand, when both parents are N/N for DM, you normally do not test the pups, as they are clear by parentage. So, it is hard to say if there are more similar cases :?

I am definately following this subject about DM testing.

Haha, thank you guys! I was a bit tensed, constantly looking at the OFA site. I'm very happy she is clear. When she is old enough I have to do her hips and I'm very nervous about that already, I'm just hoping they are okay too.

Yes, I'm so happy that this could be a possible choice for a male for Mila! And does anybody know if Akim already had his hips done? I like the characters of the Muensterland litter. ;)
