Height? Can't get it on him, he's too crazy

Thanks for the 16 wk vs 19 wk comparison - VERY comforting!Katlin wrote:Be careful with high protein. If they don't use it (aren't running around / working) it can cause kidney failure and very runny stools.

From what my vet told me rabbits are very fatty and contain a lot more protein than beef. They did a study on feeding cats (I know it's not dogs but bare with me) eating 100% rabbit for 12 weeks and 2 actually died because of what I mentioned before - kidney failure. If you plan on doing that I would only mix in very very small amounts and watch them closely.blackthumb wrote:Thanks for the 16 wk vs 19 wk comparison - VERY comforting!Katlin wrote:Be careful with high protein. As I raise meat rabbits I was thinking to supplement their "puppy" chow with HEALTHY rabbit culls, perhaps 2-3 per month, perhaps more if it's a BAD time for buns. Sound reasonable?
Actually "domestic" rabbits are extremely lean - hence the "rabbit starvation" myth (which can be avoided by eating the organs also). I've read of humans, who due to poverty ate no meat except domestic rabbit and ended up losing all of their teeth!Katlin wrote:From what my vet told me rabbits are very fatty and contain a lot more protein than beef.
