OK, it's not new news, but I ran into this doing some other research and found it interesting:

Dogs DO see colour. But they don't see colour the way humans do.

Here's a map translated for our species:

Hmmmm, got me thinking, maybe that's why Kona's not embarrassed by my blaze orange snowsuit!

Why does it say "purport"? I thought we already knew dogs can see colours to some extent?

Because until we can actually see what a dog sees, through a dog's eyes, it's all hypothetical and based on our (human) understanding of science and biology.
