His eyes change from indoor & outdoor...they are not yellow but more like a light amber? When he is outside his eyes look lighter because of the light reflection?

His tongue looks like a barbie doll took a bite out of it, huh? He had an injury to his tongue when he was several weeks old. We do not know what, who, or how. At 8wks old it was in the healing process & my Vet said it was a several week old injury. The injury would've been before he (or his littermates) had teeth sooooo? On close inspection it literally looks like a "bite mark". I consider it his "unique tattoo"................anyone steals my Wave, I can identify that tongue a mile away

Lisa,
Wave is absolutely georgous. We need to find him a female to mate with. His pups with the right girl will do wonders for the breed in the United States.

Yes, we would come to whereever for a reunion, too! It'd be so neat to see if the litter and parents remember one another.
As far as his tongue--you sure Freyja didn't bite it off? haha

Can not rule out Freyja managed to leave her mark on my boy.....as in removing part of his tongue with her personal signature  You remember those 1st pics of her kicking his butt, right? My Wave is still a "wuss" :D
He is, at least, double the size of my 2 other dogs & he lets them control him. EXCEPT when my Norwegian tries to hump his head :D for whatever reason he does not appreciate that!

Post by Wave2Tuffy » Sat Aug 21, 2010 5:48 pm

Jasper does a similar thing with his nose, whereby he pushes his snout up against objects and then holds that position... similar to how Wave does it. Vixen doesn't do anything like it though. Maybe it's a male thing? He only does it when people are watching... I think he knows that we find it funny.

hmmm.... interesting!!! I thought it was just a "Jasper quirk" - but the fact that Wave AND Ulric do it too... that's pretty neat.
I wonder if it's anything like the "Flehmen response" seen in horses and cats? Since dogs can't actively curl their upper lips (except in a snarl) that might be why they utilize inanimate objects to help lift up their upper lip... it's an interesting puzzle.

Maybe the males are lazy, relaxing their head on something so they dont have to hold it up by them selves.
Like when we (people) hold our head with our hand and a elbow on a table (or something like that) :D

but.. its really ugly :P

I know I'm late commenting on Wave's previous pics(one in his kennel with his lip up), but I gotta say that is so funny! When I got my new camera too it is mostly used on Boreal and Phaedra! Canon Eos Rebel xsi. Love it! Got it on Ebay for quite a deal. I gotta post some updated pics on here too. Just haven't been on computer much lately.
