Yes we are thinking about it but not really sure. We will see how he will doing when he is older.
And you had to know that he is a DM-carrier...
Other test had to be doing before we can say exactly if he is able to breed.

He's so handsome

compared to Sølve he almost seems to be more feminine, even though he is larger than her
But it could be that her coat is longer than his is :)

Was he tested for DM already?

This is a big compliment! :-)
Thank you!

Yes he was tested as a young pup and he is a carrier...
But until now no other tests was made. I do not know what we had to test and when we can test that.

He really looks very feminin, but I think that he will become wider in future and than he will look like a man. :-D

Isn't Sølve a sister of Leska and Kira? Then a mating between our both Tams isn't possible. I think Sølves mother is a sister of Jacks mother Summer. Who was her father?

Not sure if Heidi and Summer are sisters, are they if so I didn't know?
But they cannot be mated anyways as they are half brother and sister, both Jack and Sølve has the same father (Jackal)
and yes she is the sister of Leska and Kira - though she seems to be more red (I have only seen Bow in norway from that litter that is almost as red as Sølve is)

Im sure he will become much more masculine, they do tend to grow in height first and become wider next.
My parents saw Sølve around 3 weeks ago and then again this weekend, she has definately become wider since last they say :)

I will have to test Sølve too for DM as Heidi is a carrier, so she might be so too
Other tests will be done later (like HD etc.)

Heidi and Summer are half sisters, they both have the same father.
I think Jack is really nice and you should keep him for breeding, he is also the last puppy from Summer (with Maja). Because he is a carrier of DM you can use him for females that are clear. You would only need to test his hips if he is one year old and if they are fine he can be used for breeding ;)

With the father I was not sure but I know that a mating with Leska was not possible too. We talked a lot of it (they live not far away from us).

Leska and Kira are much more grey, no red like Sølve. She has got a very nice colour. The same with Jack and Maya. She is grey and he more red / brown. Sølve and Jack will be made very beautiful pups I think. :-)
But healthy is more expensive than looking in my opinion!

I think we will test his hips when he is 18 month old that we can be very sure. And than we can start to work, too. The time is running so fast that 6 month more is not long.

Are they no more possible tests?
Otherway we had to see if he is a monorchid because I read here that his father Jackal transmit the gene... Is that right?

Well you could test his eyes and/or elbows but it's not a requirement for breeding. Only the hips must be done and he must be DNA profiled. Jackal is a carrier of monorchism so he can produce pups who are monorchid (only have one testicle). If Jack has both his testicles then he is just fine and can be used for breeding. He might also carry it like his father but you can't test for it sadly, you only know if he's a carrier when he has pups that are monorchid.

Both Fly and Amy (Summer) are going to be bred with Falk (Heidi), it's close but possible. Because Kira/Leska/Solve and Jack also have the same father a mating between them would be too close.

Yes Breeding Kira/Leska/Solve and Jack would be like the accidental breeding between Vixen and Jasper - but even if they didn't have the same father (but both fathers had made was carriers of monorchism) I'm not sure if it would be a too risky mating (consideren there is no test and both could be carriers)

I myself wouldn't mind a mating between Sølve and one of the males from Summers first litter, it would be line breeding (cousins) but the inbreeding isn't something that wouldn't be acceptable if everything ells was okay :)

I'm sure that if Jack keeps growing up to be a wonderful and healthy (both mental and physical) he would be a good looking stud dog :)
If it was not because he is this closely related to Sølve I would consider a pup myself ;)

 Thank you very much!! :-) There is a very big compliment!
But I think everybody which likes Jacks looking had to know that he is very dominant... Now at the puberty he is really exhausting...

I am very exciting how his charakter will change within the next years until he is adult.

That are all very important information from a father of a puppy I think. It can be that he will produce same dominant and difficult puppies.

If dominant you would have to choose the right mate for him sure.
If Sølve will be used I would be considering to find a very outgoing and trainable mate - as she is a little shy (not scared just fussy about who she likes) and she can be a bit too independent at times making it hard for me to train recall as an example but still very submissive (which is nice).
Besides health temperment would be a great factor not only how he would be looking when finding a mate.

But Jack is good looking, and I'm sure he could find a fitting mate within the breed :)

Jack is shy too... Some people can touch him everywhere and onto the head, but very often he is frightened about different people espacially big man.
Because he is very curious he only need a little time and than most of the people which he was frightened can touch him one time (but not at the head).

We take care that he meet lots of people and dogs and do not make any negativ experience so it goes better every time.

I saw Jack at the Euro show and although didnt have time...sorry...to say hello I did notice him across the field lol... he is a very nice boy and a good size. He needs time to mature and Im sure that all health tests in place he will become a valuable stud dog.

Please see my post in the Breeder's section.

OK, I read it but I do not understand exactly why you take the link here...
I do not want to breed with a other dog or something. I am thinking the same way like you that the way is not a reason for not breeding with the best Tamaskan for his boy or girl. ;-)

I believe all future breeders are being directed there. Just to be informed and make sure people don't breed tamaskan to tamaskan just because they are close :D

Beautifull dog! I've noticed you also have a chihuahua, how is the relation between the chihuahua and your tamaskan? Are they getting along and can you leave 'm alone together? I guess they are both male.

It is not our Chihuahua. He lives under us with the parents of my boyfriend. At the beginning (when Jack was a little boy) they played together but now he is too big for the little Chihuahua to play with him. He often use his paws and they are too big for the little guy... He always hides, so Jack can not reach him.

Yesterday Jack gets a third rabies vaccination for a blood-test in 3 month to get a good value for rabies antibodies.
If he gets a positiv stamp we are able to come to the tamaskan show in the UK next year! :-)

We are not sure at the moment if we will come but we wanted to carry out all measures for that. My boyfriend wants to make holidays in the UK for a long time to drive on the other side of the street. :-D

DON'T take the bloodtest!!!! It's not necessary anymore, the rules will change from January 1st 2012! Please read this:

As Rahne said, it is no longer necessary to do the bloodtest - unless you plan to travel to the UK before January 2012... personally, I'd wait - much less hassle!! Anytime after January 2012, you'll be able to travel to the UK just like anywhere else in the EU. Also, do you really mean that he had THREE separate rabies injections? Normally they only get ONE rabies injection per year (in some places, once every 3 years).

Oh, thats very fine!!! :-) Thank you!

A puppy gets a rabies injection with 8 weeks and with 12 weeks again. But to get a good blood testing it is better to have more injections because a negativ testing will be forever in his pass... It is only to make sure that the testing will be positiv enough. In future he is getting every year only one of course.
