Just wanted to say......Shay is stunning! Her coat is particuarly long and beautiful, is that down to the cold weather where you are? We'd love some snowy weather for Luna to enjoy.
Also, we would of loved it if our two cats had got on with Luna like your cat does with Shay - what great photos. Our's are just too old and set in their dog hating ways.

I'm not sure what lenth the hair is on the other dogs, but Shay's hair on the back of her neck is about 4 inch long. About as long as my fingers. It is cold here but we only had snow for a few days before we got back to the rain. I dont have heating on in my house ( I dont like the warmth) so I suppose she is use to the cold, as I am. She dose have a beutifull thick under coat.
I believe that any animal can be socilized with any other. If you tryed to make your cat's understand that the dog is not a threat then maybe they would get along better. Try things like getting the dog calm then giving the cats some food or play. associate being around the dog as a pleasurable experiance and the cat's will start to relax.
I use to have a pet Cockrell and he was house trained, walked on a lead, came out in the Kayack and on the motorbike with me. All I did to train him was to make everything enjoyable for him. With consistancy, pacience and understanding (and sweetcorn and tuna) he soon understood what I wanted of him.
.
I think out of the rest of the litter that I have seen, Luna looks the most like shay, Ravi being a close second. They are ALL so beautifull and I feel very honored to be sharing my life with Shay.

Lovely pictures and her coat is just great

Re: . Blustag Shamrock....... Shay..
Yes her coat looks lovely and thick, Luna much prefers the cooler rooms of our house, makes sense with the double coat.
Your right I'll try positive reinforcement with them. I just spend all the time making sure they don't get too close to oneanother, as the cats just swipe at her. I'll give it a go though. That's amazing about the cockrell!

Re: . Blustag Shamrock....... Shay..
A quick update on Shay now that she is 8 months old.
She has the kindest, most compassionate nature of any dog I have known. She can be a bit rough and clumbsy when she is playing but if she hurts Tala or kizzy and thay yelp, she goes strait back licking them and checking that they are ok. The video of her helping Tala out of the burn is a good example. you can see how she carefully waches Tala untill she had made it back to me.
She is doing well with her training and is keen to please and quick to learn.... BUT... she dose have selective deafness !!! when the mood takes her she will compleatly forget all her training and try and go off pleasing herself... She dose this mostly when we meet other people out on our walks and starts leaping about like an idiot trying to get to them to say hello.. She is funny...
I take her to town with me and she is fine, she will pull on her lead to reach someone to say hello but when at home out in the country she is totaly daft. But with time she will calm down so I am not too bothered.
We have a lot of sheep in the fields and she watches them when we walk by but she has never tryed to chase them. I tell her "Leave" and she will look away so she is not transfixed on them. I think given the chance (which she has'ent had) she would go up to them and lick them like she dose with the donkey's in the village.
She has taken to her "Pulling" very well and loves doing it. She started with a tyre and has now started working with the cart. She has started to learn how to slow the cart down when we are going down hill. I was'en sure how she would react but after the first couple of times she worked out how to slow it down and stay to Heel. She figgered it out on her own..
All in all she is a cracking lass and I love her to bit's..

She is very cheeky but in a fun way. I dont know if other Tamaskans do it but when Shay is protesting or fed up about something she lets out this very long moan... It's not a growel, more of a vocal ex-halation... it's really funny and sometimes she add's a tune to it which make's it sound like she knows the words to the song !!!

yeah, sam does... or if i point he will wrinkle his nose and try to bite my finger (done it since about 4 month old) because he knows i will move it... i left it there once and he got me so covered my finger in kisses
but the exasperated groans amuse me
