Cute pups. I am also curious to see how they turn out. :)
I expect they will probably look a lot like Takari's GSD X Tamaskan litter (more GSD-ish than Tamaskany).

Ankaa really looks like a GSD pup facewise but I don't know about the others
3 of them seem to be losing the black mask
the tamaskan Takari used was allready GSD-ish, which Ravi is not

Hmmm she used Dakari (out of Alba bloodlines)... there's quite a lot of husky in him...

These are the resulting puppies (how they turned out):

Hmmm interesting... this implies that Ravi got to Novi several days before she ovulated (probably during her LH surge, 2 days before ovulation, at the very beginning of her standing phase) resulting in the predominantly female litter. X sperm are stronger and live longer than Y sperm, which are quicker but more delicate. So the male sperm slowly died off over a period of a couple of days, leaving mostly female sperm available to fertilize the eggs once she ovulated (and after the 2-3 day ova maturation phase). ;)

I don't know what's behind him but his head has a GSD-ish shape http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p389 ... RIcrop.jpg
Ravi looks very different from him more like a mal

That is true. It will be interesting to see his (Malamute) influence in the pups.

pH levels can also have an influence on which types of sperm mostly survive (X sperm can handle higher acidic environment)

Some more info here, if you are interested, regarding the differences between X (female) sperm and Y (male) sperm, and how this difference is 'exploited' during sperm sorting:

Yeah, it is pretty fascinating - it can be difficult to apply it in real life scenarios (intentionally) as litters are generally (naturally) split 50:50 and if you risk trying to get the ratio you want by artificial manipulation (tracking ovulation and scheduling matings accordingly) you could miscalculate and mess up the timing completely, then end up with no puppies at all! Sometimes though, there is an obvious predominance of males vs females, or vice versa. In Vixen's first litter, 4/5 pups were male (only 1 female) and she ovulated late, around Day 17, but didn't mate until 2 days after (or so).

Basically the 2 important factors are the timing of ovulation and the timing of mating... and pH levels also have an influence. Generally, I prefer even litters (Vega's litter was a nice 50:50... 5 males / 5 females) as it makes it easy to match the puppies with people on your waiting list (usually also split roughly 50:50). If there's an abundance of one sex over the other, it can be difficult to find homes for the extras if people have their minds set on getting a puppy of the opposite sex.

Ravi's face was all black when he was a pup so I suspect some of his puppies could loose it too and look more tamaskany.

yes Ravi has a mask too, he still has half a cm of black hairs around his lips and on his bottom jaw you can still see were the mask ended
you can see it well in this pic

I think my favourite trait about Ravi is how massive his head is, very wolfy!
His colors and masking is really great, too!
If his stop was less distinct and his snout pointier, he'd look very very wolfy imo.

It's too bad this litter apparently does not qualify for backcrossing with the Tamaskan breed since it was accidental but the pups are adorable and I hope they live happy and healthy lives.
