My two boys

Post by Kazee » Fri Sep 03, 2010 7:38 am

Since I don't have a Tamaskan yet, you guys can suffer through pictures of my two boys!

Zoran came from a breeder in Slovakia as a working lined German Shepherd. We currently dabble in everything from protection sports to frisby (one day maybe I'll have a nice title on him)!

Before I got Moki, I had an eleven year old Great Pyrenees. He was, without a doubt, my "heart dog". When I lost him to what was believed to be a brain tumor, the house went quiet. It's hard to believe because at the time I had a wired up German Shepherd puppy to keep busy. We went out about a week after his death and outside the store was an adoption event. Enter Moki. I had seem him up there before, but at the time I wasn't ready for a three dog household (Vast was still alive then). I went up to say hello and it was as if the universe screamed "rescue him!", so I did. While he couldn't fill the void left by Vast, he certainly helped ease the pain and helped Zo have a friend.

Lovely dogs. I'm glad Moki has helped fill the void.

Thanks you guys :)!

Blustag, I think a piece of my heart will always belong to the Great Pyrenees breed. I'd love to do rescue with them in a few years, there's certainly enough around here that need homes.
I think I'm in for a shock to see the behavioral differences between a Pyr, German Shepherd, and then Tamaskans. I guess I've gotten used to having aloof breeds haha.

Great Pyrenees isn't that the breed used to guard goats?
Living their whole life with the goats to protect them from anything dangerous?

I really think your shepherd is really beautiful

The breed was indeed created as a live stock guardian. They do amazingly well at it. Ours was just a pet here, but you could still see the guarding instincts in the home and on the property.

Thank you :). I love my boy an incredible amount (both boys really)!

Thanks everyone, I'm glad both of them cannot read, they don't need bigger egos!

I had no idea I'd turn into a lurker! But I'm still here, still without a Tamaskan (sad face!). In light of that, I'm living in a new city, new house, and have NEW PICTURES! We just had a snow + ice storm here just north of Atlanta, GA, but the dogs were not complaining!

(I just realized it looks like Moki doesn't have a tail! He DOES have one, he's just adept at hiding it 0_o).

They look really happy, lovely looking dogs :)
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
.............................................................
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Thanks you everyone! We've been LOVING the snow! Zoran and I really enjoyed sledding down the street for the first time ever, even if it was a bit scary the first run since I didn't know what to expect!
