Drawing by issylupus

Post by issylupus » Mon Sep 26, 2011 11:44 pm

A lot of these were illustrations for a booklet that I wrote for Kilmartin house museum. Some I did at school and they look old and grubby now. The one I am working on at the moment (Wolf pack) is done with "Dot's" it takes ages but the results can be good.

The Photo is of me when I was 7 years old with Hooligan, a Canadian timber wolf pup that I helped hand rear along with his sister, Mootie. I had the honor of growing up with real wolves...

Thank you all for your nice remarks.
I actually failed "O" Level art at school..... I was pushed down the stairs during the break and ended up with a chip of bone out of my skull, 6 stitches and concussion..... Bummer !!! I had done a pencil sketch of otters for the first part and was going to do a colour study of a buzzard for my second part...I even had a stuffed Buzzard with me !!!! but I was seeing double so could'nt complete the finals.

That sux..

I have a dream about going to art school - did apply but as there were 33 openings, and I was applicant number 297 after only 14 days open for appliance of cause I didn't get in..
But I still love art - specially drawing and painting with whole of my heart, and wish I could have done it for a living (it runs in my family btw. my grandfather is a very good painter, and about half of his children and their children have quite a talent for the same)

Your work is amazing... I love the dot drawings I was a huge fan of the gestalt theory and closure when I was going through art school... I wasn't near as good as you are... Do you have bigger examples of your work?

The wolf pack drawing I am working on at the moment is 76cm X 76cm. I have mostly just done sketches or illistrations in a couple of books I have written, Others have been done as gifts for people. I have just moved house at the start of this month so I have NO idea where anything else is !!! there are box's everywhere. I also was in hospital a few days ago and had all my teeth removed so have not been motivated to sort the house out and find stuff....but I will....eventually...maybe.... perhaps...!!!! :P

I hope you feel better soon sounds very painful having all your teeth removed.

The drawings are great, I have no talent for art at all, stick men are my level  I love looking at good drawings and paintings though so looking forward to seeing your latest one completed.
