Dog License Fee

Post by Aislinn2204 » Thu Jan 23, 2014 9:07 am

Hi everyone,

I have to pay the dog license fee for two dogs.
First dog: €40 about $54 (per year)
Second dog: €100 about $135 (per year)

How much you have to pay dog license fee?

many greetings
Marko

As Balto is entire, his yearly registration cost is $50. Tyson is very cheap, i think its $30 for 3 years (maybe cheaper i cant remember) because he is neutered.

We don't have a dog license..
But the law do require that we have all dogs registered within the national register and have dog insurance on all dogs

There are no registration / dog licenses fees here BUT each dog must be vaccinated against rabies EVERY year (their microchip numbers are logged in a nationwide database) and, as standard practice, dogs are given a deworming pill at the vet clinic at the same time that they get their rabies vaccination... it's fairly reasonably priced though, around 20 euros per dog per year. Something else really cool: at the new address where we just moved there's an official licensed vet who comes around from house to house doing the annual rabies vaccinations. :)

We paid $60 (current location Toronto) but it was when we first got her at 8 weeks so she had not been spayed (as there is a small discount for neutered/spayed animals). When we were in the UK family dogs didn't have them. The dog licenses in the UK were abolished in 1987 apparently.

It seems, I'm living in the wrong city... :)

I also go every year to the vet for the vaccinations (rabies,parvovirosis...)
price about €50/dog.

many greetings

Fees can vary here in Germany depending on the community. Usually it's cheaper on the countryside and more expensive in the cities.

... I have not once paid the fees because I do not agree with the idea behind it of making dog owners pay for nothing, while cat owners don't pay a cent yet their free roaming cats shit the sandboxes of kindergartens and alike.
It's my form of protesting against this.

BUT when you have 5 or more ( Like we do ) AND your are registered by the Raad van Beheer as a kennel(breeder) like we are you pay a kennel fee of 391,26 euro a year ( 535 USD)

There is no dog licence required in the UK, although there used to be. However, I believe the Government/Defra are thinking about reinstating it now.

Our city also has different pricing depending on if your dog is fixed or not. If they are fixed, it is cheaper. No quantity discount.

In tact dog: $18. Fixed dog: $8.
Lifetime license for an intact dog: $56.

There used to be a "dog tax" in Sweden, but they removed that almost 20 years ago.

Well seems you are all lucky here LOL
I happen to live in the most expensive city (and probably the most 'anti-dog' place too), when it comes to dog taxes, in the Netherlands!

1st dog = € 126,80
Every extra dog = € 200,90

So for 3 dogs I'm paying: € 528,60 for 2014 (fees are raised every year). For a registered kennel with the Dutch Kennel Club (which I don't have) you would pay: € 402,20 for 2014, unlimited amount of dogs.

That's what I'm planning to do :P
