I've decided on Jacie as my female's name. Jacy = moon so it seems fitting but I wanted to change the spelling a bit. Blisit will probably be my next male's name :)

sooo, i'm not quite sure if this has turned into a general puppy name topic or still breeder puppy names but... i need help :(

Salem = Love the witchy thing
Sirius = known colloquially as the "Dog Star"
Asterix = He he he... that should be pretty obvious
Erebus = Darkness
Ares = God of War
Apollo = God of Sun (Light), Truth, Music, Healing
Loki = God of Mischeif ? (gotten more popular)
Kiba = Fang
Alex = Protector of Men
Ranger = Saw the name and added to my forever growing list

The most i could narrow it down to and 3 names got added this morning... will most likely think of more tho

Been researching puppy names, so thought I'd add some more here.

Haven't included the one I'm considering calling the puppy though.
If anyone dares to pick that name for their pup...

Just joking of course
It's the name I've picked out last year for my future Konah pup!

That was my number one. Veles is the god of domestic animals well not so much but here is a good article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veles_(god)

He's not exactly the god of domestic animals but more of a god of cattle and wealth which sort of ties in with the domestic animals along with the natural world and the mythical dragons. His name is a good name because this pagan god represents the guardian of the huge tree of which the Slavs once believed the world is a giant tree of life and the gods, Veles included, resides on the upper most, watching the people and animals living on each level of elevation of the tree.

My #1 name resource: http://www.behindthename.com/
(Too huge to include any lists. Make sure to check out "themes" to the left and names by origin by clicking "more" in the middle).

And that wolf name list has been, sorry to say this, on the internet for years ;): http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/names/wolfnames.htm
Overall, another very good site: http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/names/
(It's not just names for Löwchens. :))

I also love old nordic names. Some can be quite bizarre though...

I uses to have oleander bushes in my backyard as a kid... they are poisonous to dogs and people if gotten in cuts or ingested.

I have lots of nice male names lying around, but I want my next dog to be a female and the cat ended up a female too. :x :P

Names like these...

Jólnir - Alternative name for "Odin", and it's after Jólnir that the viking tradition of "Yule" is named.
(Which has been hijacked and turned into "Christmas". ;))
Jarbi - Old norse name, don't know what it means.
(From this stone: http://www.kulturbilder.dk/bildarkivet/ ... pptuna.jpg Which basically sais "Jarbi let this stone be raised after his two sons".)
Vigrim - Same thing there.
(From this stone: http://www.kulturbilder.dk/bildarkivet/ ... -Kasby.jpg Which basically sais "Visten, Torsten and Fasto let this stone be raised after Vigrim, their brother.)

And a couple of female names.
Snöfrid - Means "Snow peace" in Swedish. Would make a great name for a white dog. ;) ("Ö" is not pronounced at all like "O", but I don't have a good English example. A clearer, lighter version of the sound in "Bird" or "Burden", perhaps.)
Birka - The name of a viking age merchant town in Sweden, near where Stockholm is today.

Fenris would of course be a classic, on the theme of nordic names, and wolf names... but I already named a bird that, ten years ago, so I'm not going to use it again.

That first one is my second name. :D (Although I spell it with a C.)
And the second one is the modern Swedish word for wolf. The G is a J-sound, and the A is not like anything in the English language as far as I know, but if you have seen Avatar, it is like the A in Na'vi. ;) (So it's nothing like how they pronounce "Warg" in Lord of the Rings, sorry. :P)

So I wasn't sure if I wanted to share or not, as I don't want them all take already when I get my Tams, though there are some on this list I am certain others have thought of.
As Tams are meant to Look live wolves, instead of using names that meant wolf, I founds "names" that had the meanings of words that I feel pertain to wolves... what comes to mind when I think of them. Some I've altered spelling to try & change how Masculine/Feminine they are.

So Here is some of my list.

Masculine
DÁITHÍ (dah+hee)- an old Irish name meaning "swiftness, nimbleness."
ÉIMHÍN (eh-VIY-N)- also Gaelic for 'swift'
CARU (Ka-ru)- supposed to be Welsh, meaning love/lovely
CARADOC (kar-AH-dog)-welsh meaning "lover; loving person"
SAVIO -Means "clever, bright, wise" in Italian.
BASHIR (BahSIH-R)-Means Wise in Arabic.
KAVE (Ker-Viy)- Means "wise man/sage/poet" in Sanskrit.
SUDHIR (SahD-ih-R)-Derived from the Sanskrit prefix सु (su) "very" combined with धीर (dhira) "wise, considerate".
LORCCÁN (LOR-kan)-Means "little fierce one", derived from Irish Gaelic lorcc "fierce" combined with a diminutive suffix.
JAREK (YAARehK)-Polish, "Strong, Fierce"
SHAMIR- see SHAMIRA
THERON (DH-erAAN)- Greek for 'hunter'
ARTEMIR- see ARTEMIS
RAKESH (Raa-K-SH)- Sanskrit meaning 'ruler of the full moon.'

Feminine
NEHA (nay-ha)- means 'love' in Sanskrit
AOIFE (EE-feh)-Means "beauty" from the Gaelic word aoibh. In Irish legend Aoife was a warrior princess
SIRANUSH/SIRAN (SI-rah-nush/SI-rahn)- Armenian for beauty/lovely
BASHIRA (BahSIH-Rah)- see BASIR
SUMATI (SuwMaaTih)- Means "wise, good mind", derived from Sanskrit सु (su) "good" and मति (mati) "mind, thought".
CHIZOBA (CH-AYZOWBah)-African meaning is 'one who is well-protected.'
SHAMIRA (SHaa-MAYRaa/SHEY-Mih-R-aa)-Hebrew meaning guard, protector.
TAJANA -Derived from Croatian and Serbian tajiti "to keep secret". [[in relation to a wolf's stealth]]
ARTEMIS -Greek goddess of the moon and hunting
LUSINE -Means "moon" in Armenian.
RAKESHIA (Raa-K-SHE-ah)- see RAKESH

Of these my Favorites are Rakesh, Chizoba, Shamira, and Daithi. So they'll be the first ones I use when I get my tams :D

Anyone know where you can find more names like those of the Sawtooth pack? (Kamots, Chemukh, Matsi, Motomo, Amani, Wahots, Wyakin and Lakota. And of course Shaun Ellis' wolves Yana, Tamaska and also another Matsi.)

I've tried googling native american names but no luck, I find nothing similar.

I have such an amazingly awesome name picked out for our future male pup, but my lips are totally sealed and nobody better use it in the meantime... haha :D

Bakura
Cobra
Commando
Davros
Jailer
Raziar: not pronounced as it should be, instead more as how it looks... Ray-z(as in zee)-a(as more like er as in her)
Spider
Yoko

We've hopefully got a 20/21 month old GSD x joining the gang soon, and I don't like his current name, whilst contemplating alternatives I thought I'd add a couple more here.

Been researching puppy names, so thought I'd add some more here.

Haven't included the one I'm considering calling the puppy though.
If anyone dares to pick that name for their pup...

Just joking of course
It's the name I've picked out last year for my future Konah pup!
Ember is a nice name...
We have an other name which I haven't seen in this list either... As soon as we have our stunning boy, I'll tell you all

when do you get your boy? And which litter is he from? Sorry if I've missed it elsewhere.

I'm renaming my latest addition Bakura, it was between that Spider and Merlin...I went with the one I don't.know of anyone else having.

Here some Irish based names that I liked that you might like. I added meaning, pronunciation, and which gender its referring to.

1. Meadhbh (f) (MAVE): she who intoxicates
2. Fionúir (f) (FYUN oor): ghost; spirit
3. Dubhgall (m) (DU gal): dark foreigner
4. Líadan (f) (LEE a dan): grey lady
5. Ciar (f) (KEE ir): black
6. Bébhinn (f) (BAY vin): fair lady
7. Scáthach (m) (SKAW hohk): shadowy; ghostly; frightening
8: Sheelin (f/m) (SHEE lin): lake of the fairies
9. Maon (f/m) (MAIN): silent
10. Tuilelaith (f) (ta LOO la): lady of abundance
11. Fann (f) (FON): a teardrop

Here are some Native American names as well that I liked. Most Native American languages are written orally, which means how you see it is almost always how it's pronounced. Any name without specified tribe language is usually a word commonly used in multiple languages.

Female Names:
1. Tala: wolf
2. Kineks: rosebud
3. Winona: Sioux name meaning "giving"
4. Kai: Navajo name meaning "willow tree"
5. Miakoda: power of the moon
Male Names:
1. Ahanu: Algonquin name meaning "he laughs"
2. Kono: meaning unknown
3. Alo: Hopi name meaning "spiritual guide"
4. Ohanzee: Sioux name meaning "shadow"
5. Honovi: strong

Thanks! That's what I thought too. That's why I liked them so much! Do you know were I can get some elvish dictionaries? My friend's birthday is coming up and she and I wanted to do a Lord of the Rings movie marathon and be as geeky as possible! She and I were also really curious to what all the elves were saying in the movies.

I have found a really good site on the internet. The translation tho is in German language! http://gernot-katzers-spice-pages.com/t ... ar_fr.html
On this site you will find EVERY elvish dialogue from all three movies - also dialogues from the special extended editon. If you need something translated I can try if you want!

The books I've bought:
Elbisches Wörterbuch nach J.R.R Tolkien (Klett-Cotta)
Elbisch, Grammatik-Schrift und Wörterbuch (Helmut W.Pesch)

Both books are written in german. I do not know if these books are also available in english language. But I think you might find something on Amazon...

Okay, cool! I don't speak or read German, but my dad does. I bet he can help me out with that. And I bet there's something in English somewhere, but the ones in German that you led me to are a really good start to finding them. I'll check around to see if they have anything related to them. Thanks!
