Interest in Tamaskans
Hello,
I am new to forums but for a few years now I have been searching for a new companion in my life.
I have had a few dogs in the past, all of which had passed away of old age, or my most recent who past away 3 years ago due to cancer.
I'm ready for a new family member and I have done my research and have fallen in love with the Tamaskan.
Here comes the part that concerns me,
I live in Ontario, Canada, around the Toronto area.
But I am afraid of the puppy being brought over, I know for most situations any animal being brought over to a new country is often quarantined. I find keeping the animal in a small kennel where they aren't properly watched is quite heartbreaking and I'd prefer to find another way or simply skip on it all together.
With that said,
I want to get to know the breeders who are willing and have experience with the procedures involved when exporting/importing their puppies.
I am not seeking a puppy for the next few months and I'm in no rush, as I am in the process of moving out of an apartment Into a full house and I still have a lot of work to do. But I would like to know the breeder I plan on working with before hand.
Also, I am set on always meeting the pups and the parents before hand and would be willing to travel if required.
So, I would probably like to start contacting or speaking with breeders as soon as possible.
Thank you kindly,

Welcome to the forum!
The first Tamaskan has arrived in Canada (Ontario) - from the UK. And another one is heading to the same general area in the very near future. I believe, since the pups are flying direct from the UK (rabies-free zone) that there are no quarantine rules or requirements.

the first tamaskan was delivered to ontario yesterday, there are no problems with quarantine as long as all the health criteria is met, but still speak with Lynn .

Hello & welcome to the forum

Re: Interest in Tamaskans
Thank you all every so kindly for the nice welcomes,
also thank you for reassuring me about the information in regards to puppy travels.
I am so excited and happy to have found proud breeders who carry such knowledge and show such love when it comes to their puppies.
again, I am certainly in no rush, since I still need to move in and settle down at the house for April 1st...But once that is all setup and done, I will be happily ready to welcome a Tamaskan into the family.
Thank you all so much!
