Hi Everyone
Hi, I'm new to the forum, this has probably been covered somewhere but I was wondering if someone could tell me when the Tamaskan breed will be in Australia?

Wow another Aussie!! So far I'm the only perthie though. One person from the uk has imported her dogs when she moved here. That's it so far. Myself and "flea" are on the waiting list for a pup. So maybe next year, maybe the yr after. Please make sure you read the "Aussie buyers beware" thread in the scams section. And welcome!

There’s a battle between two wolves inside us all.
One is Evil. It’s anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego.
The other is Good. It’s joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness and truth.
The wolf that wins? The one you feed!

Re: Hi Everyone
Wow that Buyer Beware thing is pretty full on. It's very confusing all the different information on the Tamaskans and where they came from. I'm a vet nurse so I tend to go off information on dogs hip scores, genetic testing and things like that in terms of who I think is reputable. I do know though, that wolf-hybrids are allowed in Aus as long as they are five generations removed from the wolf ancestry.

Re: Hi Everyone
The puppy mill selling to him fakes records. The female he's buying has the wrong dam listed too. He's getting them
From RPK there's a very long thread about them too.

I just started reading one of those threads - I think I'll be here all night! Falsifying records is shocking, how is it that he's still breeding?? How are you supposed to know if the medical testing on your puppy is accurate!

I know it took me hours to read that thread. It's horrible to think he can treat his dogs like that.

Re: Hi Everyone
Thank you so much for all the welcomes, it's very nice! Hi Katlin, in Australia we don't have the same credential types as you guys, everyone is pretty much called a Veterinary Nurse, although this can mean just a receptionist or someone like me who assists in surgeries, anaesthetics and things like that. It's the best job in the world I think!

Vet
AHT (Animal Health Technologist) - assists surgeries, performs major bandaging, performs dentals expect extractions, lab tests, performs x-rays
VOA (Veterinary Office Assistant) two categories
- Tech Assistant - assists surgeries, performs minor bandaging, restraining, some lab testing, restrains for x-rays (this is what I will be doing)
- Receptionist - Answers phones, books appointments, payroll, marketing, ect
It's pretty cool because I can bring my puppy to work with me
