I just found out about this forum and just had to sign up.

I too would very much like to add a Tamaskan to my family. I am close to retirement from my job and my husband is retired. We have 4 children and 4 grandchildren (hoping for more grandkids ;) .

There is always someone showing up at our house (e.g., meals, overnight, watch sports, etc) with their dogs (an English Bulldog, and a mixed breed (German Shepherd/Collie/Golden Retriever), so we're looking for a dog that is friendly toward other animals (we also have two cats).

As my husband and I are in our 60's (he's retired and I will be in a couple years) we know Tamaskans are smart, easily trained, friendly and would make a great protector as well.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Tamaskans do not make good guard dogs, unless being licked to death is a way to get rid of visitors ;)

Thanks to all of you for your warm welcome. This forum is just what I'm looking for - some funny, loving stories about the Tamaskan and their pet-owners (who's leader of the pack?? ;)). I know how animals can rule our lives!

Of course, I'm still looking for my pup - so, I'll be looking to send applications for waiting lists.
