Never really been on a forum before so don't quite know what to say.
A very nice lady called Lynn Hardey recommended that I check this forum out.
I have been looking into the Tamaskan breed for a while and hope to be a future owner of one. I have a chocolate working Cocker Spaniel who is a year old and is called Charlie, hence the avatar. (That's my chocolate monster!)
Like many other people I have always liked wolves, owls and elephants. I have worked with many domestic and exotic animals but never one of the three until recently. I was lucky enough to do an apprenticeship as a falconer and work with many types of raptors including owls.
Don't laugh but I loved watching Due South when I was younger, I loved Diefenbaker who was represented to be half wolf. The idea of having such a majestic animal as your friend was awesome. But impractical, so my dad said, as I lived on a poultry farm. Our Sheltie at the time would not only round the sheep up but also the chickens too.
My family have had many breeds of dog over the years all wonderful even Heinz variety ones but what draws me to the Tamaskan is their close resemblance to the wolf (obviously!) but also because they are still a dog. I have unfortunately never met a Tamaskan yet but from what I have read about the breed and the dogs I have seen on you tube. They have one of the most lovely temperaments.
Hope that explains a bit about me and why I'm here.
