Hi from Ireland :)

Post by Thororan » Sat Aug 11, 2012 1:09 am

Hey :)
I actually feel a bit shy writing this
My name's Kat, from and currently living in Northern Ireland.
At the moment I am owned by 3 dogs: Loki; A crazy Spaniel/ Lurcher cross (6 yrs), Logan; a food obsessed Akita/ Siberian husky cross (2.5yrs) and Oran; an aloof and hugely intelligent (though at times grumpy) Utonagan (8yrs).
My interest in Tamaskans came from owning a Utonagan - it was a natural progression from owning a Blustag dog as their old Utonagan sites disappeared and were replaced by Tamaskan ones! Oran's mum was Mitka, one of the founding bitches on tamaskan-dog.org.
Since then I have kept an eye on both breeds, as I do with lots of different breeds of dogs, since I like so many of them! :)

Usually I just read breed information and updates and look at photos (I'm a quiet sort :)) but have specifically joined this forum as I was asked to update the health section, having got in touch with the site about Oran developing Addisons disease. Just thought I'd introduce myself first here.

Oh and apologies if I don't reply for a few weeks. Off to Majorca tomorrow.
I just wanted to get the info posted before I went!

Welcome Kat,

Your story about Oran really touched me. I am glad that we have you, a Utonagan owner, here on the forum. I can see that you really love the Tamaskan breed and you have come to the right place to learn and share more about what you know about the breed's history and so on at your own decision as the TDR is currently in the middle of a transition to a brighter future for the breed.

I am Lucas Fong (I also go by 方競團 or 방경단 sometimes) by the way and will be getting my first Tamaskan by 2016.

Welcome Kat, thanks so much for posting about Oran - it is much appreciated!
I know there are a few other confirmed cases of Addison's Disease within the breed so it would be good to keep a close eye on those bloodlines.

One is Evil. It’s anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego.
The other is Good. It’s joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness and truth.
