Howdy from Texas :)!

Post by BlossomB » Sun Sep 22, 2013 11:30 pm

Hello!

My name is Blossom (not a nickname, my real name :D!) and I am a 21 year old female living in Dallas, Texas. I am currently studying computer science at Southern Methodist University, and I plan on graduating May 2014.

I first discovered the tamaskan breed around half year ago after doing much research on different sleddogs....and I am completely in love with tamaskans! From their color, to body size, to demeanor, these dogs are officially my favorite breed!

Since discovering this breed and TDR, I have been following White Elk Tamaskan and Hawthorne Tamaskan on Facebook all the way from the Pi litter to the Rhea x Darwin litter. In fact, I discovered about Sylvaen and ya'lls two future litters from White Elk's page (: Although I think all the breeders of TDR have beautiful tamaskans, I think Sylvaen definitely has the most fluffy dogs :0) and most dynamic coat colors! A definite love for me!

Anyway, my last dog was a border collie who passed away a couple years ago when she was 15 years old :( Being a border collie, she was very intelligent and loyal, much like the tamaskans seem to be. I do have pictures of her, just not on my computer. As of now, I just have my cat Method :) He was a stray maine coone mix that I got when he was around 6 months old (he is now a little over 3 years old). He may be a cat biologically, but he definitely acts more so like a dog! Not only did I train him to sit, but he absolutely LOVES to roll on his back and get his tummy rubbed (: Plus he is in LOVE with my one sister's maltese and my other sister's rat terrior! Here's a picture of him  This little nugget sleeps with me pretty much every night

Welcome to the forum! I am by no means a cat person, but even I have to admit your kitty is adorable!

Hello Blossom, welcome to the forum! Method is a cute cat :) I live just north of the DFW area with my two Tamaskans. After my boy recovers from his surgery completely, I would be happy if you ever want to meet up to meet the dogs in the fur ;)

I used to live in Katy, Texas - just outside Houston ;)
Anyway, thanks for filling in my Puppy Application Form! I will reply tomorrow, just heading to sleep now. :)

That's wonderful! Yes, your website mentioned you had lived in Texas :D My cousins live in Houston so I have been around that area and Galveston a few times :)

Well have a good night! I look forward to hearing from you about the application! (Side note - like I said in the application, I may even be planning on getting a puppy a year from now. Although I would love one of your puppies anytime, I want what is best for the puppy and would rather wait if you think now is not the right time based on my application :) Just thought it would be a good idea to get to know you and other breeders of TDR now for an even better chance of getting a tamaskan puppy even if it's not for awhile!)

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Texan! I live further down south...about a 5 hour drive from ya. ;)

Very cute cat and I love that sign in the first picture! If you love the breed as much as some of the folks here, then you just might be able to name Tamaskans left and right based on their pictures alone. ;) Be careful...they are addicting and from what I hear, they're like potato chips - you can't just have one.

Hi there and welcome. I just moved from Dallas to Lewisville and also adopted Amelia Earhart who we've named Ellie from White Elks litter. She doesn't have all her shots yet but as soon as she does we'll be joining Jo and DOGSDFW out and about the different dog parks throughout DFW.

I'm glad to hear one of the White Elk puppies made it to Texas! Love that litter! :D Who knows...maybe I'll take a 5 hour drive up to Dallas to join y'all and squeeze some Tams.
