Future prospective Tamaskan owner

Post by Diederik » Wed Feb 19, 2014 4:51 pm

How's it going Tamaskan lovers,

I've always been a fan of wolves and it only brought me joy that my university's mascot was a wolf. GO NCSU! And when Tuffy first came to the game floor our whole campus fell in love with him and this new breed called Tamaskans. That day I've wanted to have one myself, but I haven't been in the position to care for a dog. I've found myself enlisted in the Air Force and stationed in Japan. Single Airmen are not allowed to have dogs, and I'm a long ways away from a breeder, and working full time and don't have the ability to bring a puppy or dog along with me to work to take care of it. So I will wait until I have a more stable living situation before trying to actively adopt one of these beautiful dogs, but I wanted to get my foot in the door and start to try to learn more about them, their temperament, how to care for them, train them, etc.

I've grown up with a couple dogs here and there, but they all have taken after my dad in that he's ADD and can't stick to one training method for longer than 2 days so all the dogs I've grown up with have been poorly trained. Some more so than others. Our current dog is a Lab/Pointer mix of some sorts. She's a loving dog and well behaved but not trained much beyond that (all my efforts to train her are undone by my dad simply throwing treats down the hallway to keep her away from escaping outside when he leaves *shakes head*). But even still, I am no expert myself. So I'll be poking around here and there, asking questions, lurking the forums, waiting till I can provide a good home for a pup.

Pleased to meet everyone here,

Diederik
