Thor (Blustag Demon)

Post by JulieSmith » Wed Mar 02, 2011 10:08 pm

Today we lost our lovely dog Thor to a terrible road accident. He was a lovely gentle dog with a mischievous side. We will miss him so much.

I was absolutely gutted when Julie phoned me with this awful news. Thor was the 3rd puppy under 6 months to be lost to a road traffic accident of my breeding in the last 2 and half years. Two pick of litter males and a female. It is tragic, heartbreaking especially as I was with him only last week and my thoughts are with Julie and her family. Please people when walking your puppy off lead make sure that there are no roads anywhere near you. Puppies can get frightened and run off, which is exactly what has happened in 2 out of these 3 accidents. Best to keep your walks to forests, woods, trails way off the roads until you are 200% sure your puppy is safe. Adults too can get frightened.

OMG. I am so so sorry to hear this Julie. What a terrible shock for you all and for us too (I did a double take at the rainbow bridge). He was such a gorgeous boy and I'm sure he knew in his short life that he was truly loved by all your family.

Thank you for all your lovely comments, this is the first time I have been able to read them. He was my perfect dream dog and it is hard knowing that I will never see him again, I still can not believe he has gone.

He has left a very large hole in our lives, but I am thankful that I knew him as he brought such joy into our lives.

Saga is lovely for cuddles, when she wants, if she has enough she gets up and wonders off  I am so happy that we have her, she has such a sweet loving temperament, but it does not mean that I don't miss Thor, I still think of him most days. I am sure I will always miss him, I will always wonder what kind of dog would he have grown into, wonderful I am sure ;) I love seeing photos of Taheels Sequoia as she was the closest in looks to Thor so I would think that she is just a female version of how he would have turned out.

I still have his ashes in a cupboard and one day I will get the courage to scatter them and set him free, one day
