Dexter the Amazing

Post by jmarino82 » Sun Jan 08, 2012 1:18 am

On January 1st(while I was in the hospital for something unrelated for 21 days and having emergency surgery), my husband called me and gave me the bad news. Our 6 month old Corgi that was a gift to me when we got settled into our new home after our house fire slipped out side and tried to run across the road. He was struck in the head by a car that didn't have the decency to stop, he passed while awing the transport vehicle that was going to hopefully get him to the vet. The road is still partially stained with his blood brining ears to my eyes whenever I see it. I have been off this website for weeks due to my high risk pregnancy and extreme illness but I'm really missing him tonight and so is our Tam Luna. I miss him snuggling my feet and playing with my 2 year old son and Luna. We had him cremated and I'll get his ashes monday the vet estimates. It's been a hard hard year.

One year ago my home burned down and my family lost everything we owned and from there it was a long, upward battle. But the good news is we've got a new home we love, a healithy, beautiful family and I'm 15 weeks pregnant today with our 2nd. With my gall bladder removed I'll be better the doctor estimates, and Dexter I'm sure is keeping watch over us from the rainbow bridge.

Sorry to grandstand but I really needed to get this all out as it really hurts. Thank you so much for allowing me to do so.

::hugs::

There’s a battle between two wolves inside us all.
One is Evil. It’s anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego.
The other is Good. It’s joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness and truth.

The wolf that wins? The one you feed!

As the new life grows inside you, I hope it helps replace the sorrow and loss of the past year. I'm sure Dexter will always be a part of your family's regrowth.

Thank you all so much. His remains came into today from the crematory. I got very teary but he's home now which helps a lot. They did a beautiful job on the box and it came with a lovely sympathy card that was very moving. No where to go but on, but I miss him terribly.

You will always miss him, but it does get easier. I lost my Thor at 4 and a half months to a car, I have his ashes now and when I have the strength I want to scatter them where we walked, one day I will manage to set him free.

You are right the only way is on, wishing all the best for the future.
