Did you end up doing this mating? Your website says you retired frigga.

I was going to retire her from breeding but she is still quite a young dog and she absolutely blossoms when she has pups and as one can see from this forum, her and Odins pups are stunning and are benificial to the future of the Tamaskan breed and apart from one pup from her first litter (Odin jnr R.I.P) none of them seem to have any health issues, they have already mated and I am going to the vets in a few days for a scan so I will post the result. but this is definitely her last last litter

Absolutely. Unfortunately soooo many of the offspring from this combination are already in breeding homes around the world...

Hunter (UK)
Sophie & Rhea (USA)
Zora (Croatia)
Kandee (France)
Rayze (Netherlands)
Lobo (Sweden)
Tikaani (Germany)
Yngwie (Denmark)

Most breeders would consider repeating a particular mating if the results from the first mating were good (2 litters in total) but almost no one would repeat that same mating a 3rd time... let alone a 4th time... especially if each of the litters are "large" (over 8 puppies in total).

I hope you won't run into difficulties selling the puppies if she is pregnant, especially as there are so many new and exciting litter combinations planned / upcoming in Europe for the near future...

I know the pups will be absolutely great!
But cant help but ask the same questions Debby has... Multiple times the same combination doesnt help the breed.
In pedigree dogs it is even forbidden for that reason.

Frigga had her pups last night(Friday14th) 12 of them, unfortunately I fell asleep in the chair next to her and when I awoke she had had a couple more and whilst having them she had lain on top of two of the earlier ones and suffocated them, in a way I blame myself but then I had not had much sleep in the last couple of nights as I could tell by her actions she was ready and I had been watching her almost 24hrs a day, for some reason, this time she did not seem interested in her birthing pen, in fact the first two pups were born in a wet muddy hole she had dug in the garden and I thought she had just gone out to the toilet, I had to almost carry her indoors to the pen and when I brought the pups in she settled down, I have not sexed or weighed the remaining ten pups yet as I always like to give her a few days without any stress.

I had 8 people on my waiting list, I emailed them when the pups were 1 week old (4 weeks ago) I have had only one reply saying that the time is not right for them to take a pup, so, all these pups are available, I am selling them at 800 euros each, though I say it myself, this is a super litter, they all seem to have inherited Odins thick fur coat, and he,s laid back temperament, this is Odin and Friggas 4th litter, but I can not remember a litter at this age to be so aware , so outgoing, so alert, and yes, so mischievous if you are interested in one of these pups , please contact me by email.

Maybe it's a good idea
to advertise on Facebook.
In all the Tamaskan groups and on your own FB page,
with recent photos and name and gender

That's a shame to hear... hopefully they will all get good homes. I've told a few people to contact you as my waiting list is already quite full but we also have pups due to be born in a few days (Zora's litter) so depending how many she has in total, and what ratio of female pups to male pups, we might be able to point some more people in your direction. It's a frustrating situation when you have a full waiting list and then those people change their minds (or vanish) once the pups are born...

I'm spreading as much as I can...I'm also very tempted by Juliet. I think I'll talk to my landlords, see if they'll allow a third big dog lol

Oh, I am so tempted, would have to be a female though, have been planning for another dog, but was thinking more later this year, early next year, providing the landlord doesn't mind me having another of course. Hmm.

You guys who think of breeding should probably remember that there are already quite a few of this combination in breeding homes.
To those of you that are just looking for a pet dog, I think this combination is a GREAT idea for a pet dog!
