Re: Gum Tree Ad
Could be a Tam... hard to say since he's lying down, would need to look at him standing / tail etc.
Edinburgh though... could be an Alba Tam... the face looks legit.
No paperwork though... wonder what that's about.

Could be true.

Re: Gum Tree Ad
Looks Tamaskanish I'd say..
but no paperwork, so probably not genuine since everyone but RPK sells with papers (as far as I know even Alba does?)

She was a bit slow / not very good at handing out paperwork have to admit, even though we did it for her.
But its possible the paperwork was left with the previous owners.

Re: Gum Tree Ad
Wonder if he's 100% healthy... maybe he's monorchid, she did try to use him for breeding but without success. Also, at 10 months, maybe he started showing signs of epilepsy. He DOES look like a really nice boy... but there might be health issues under the surface. Bit of a gamble without knowing his background... if he's just monorchid, would still make a lovely family pet but if it's epilepsy then new owners need to be prepared and know what to expect.

Re: Gum Tree Ad
Interesting that his colouring is described as red sable? Surely any Tam owner would know the correct name for the colours?

I'm not sure where you read that?Sylvaen wrote:Wonder if he's 100% healthy... maybe he's monorchid, she did try to use him for breeding but without success. She says her Inuit bitch didn't take to him.
Doesn't that mean she didn't like him or is my English of on this point?

Yes, I think this means that they don't get along.

Re: Gum Tree Ad
ahhh... when I read: "i only recently bought him but my inuit bitch wont take to him so he has to go" It sounded like "take" as in: become pregnant. What you're saying also makes sense and that is probably the case after all, that they just don't get along.

Re: Gum Tree Ad
Just had a lengthy chat with this woman and she aquired the dog as an adult from someone up near Aberdeen which is where Liz (Alba) lives. The dog was aggressive with her children which is the reason she told me that she wanted to get rid of it. She has sold it to a local man but didnt take his details so we dont know where this dog is now. She was very pleasant and I told her that it probably wasnt a Tamaskan as they are not aggressive and also they dont come cheap and all come with papers. It certainly isnt a 'genuine' Tamaskan but could poss be an Alba Aatu Tamaskan as we dont know what Liz is mixing up there.

Isn't the Hebridean wolfdogs place near there too? You think it could be possibly be from them?

Re: Gum Tree Ad
Glad to hear the dog has gone to a new home, that's good news. Sad that she didn't take down the details of the person who bought him though... my mind will never understand that, simply because I couldn't imagine not knowing where any animal that once lived with me has ended up. But hopefully he has a good home now and maybe that person will stumble upon our forum one day. You never know.

Could be... but I think he lives on a fairly remote island... and this dog doesn't really look like the type that he produces. The face is very Tam-like, but the tail / body-structure reminds me of Alba-type Tams. I guess it's just going to be "one of those mysteries" in life.HiTenshi16 wrote:Isn't the Hebridean wolfdogs place near there too? You think it could be possibly be from them?

Re: Gum Tree Ad
Hebridean wolfdogs don't breed anymore, I don't think he has had a litter in the past 10months, but ill ask him.

Re: Gum Tree Ad
ALso he is in the farthermost island off North of Scotland on the West Coast and Liz and the person who purchased the 10 month old are on the East Coast miles away.

Re: Gum Tree Ad
I was only wondering because Ulric is only a few days shy of being 10 months old, I'm pretty sure Liz didn't have any other litter at the same time as Ulric (unless I'm mistaken). I could only think that if he is an Alba pup, then he could be Ulric's brother
I wish she could of gotten the details of the new owner though.

Re: Gum Tree Ad
You could always put an ad on gum tree to get him to contact you, worth a try.HiTenshi16 wrote:I was only wondering because Ulric is only a few days shy of being 10 months old, I'm pretty sure Liz didn't have any other litter at the same time as Ulric (unless I'm mistaken). Re: Gum Tree Ad
I spoke to Hebridean Wolfdogs and his last litter was well over a year ago. He said he is still in contact with all puppy purchasers and the pups were all chipped, so he is sure its not one of his.

Re: Gum Tree Ad
Thats interesting and I would have got the details but that is me. I was hoping that she would have had his contact but she did say that he said he would let her know how the dog was doing so I asked her to get him to contact us. I doubt this will happen but he may come through of his own accord possibly as he has no idea where the dog has come from and may like some info on the breed. One can only hopeHiTenshi16 wrote:I was only wondering because Ulric is only a few days shy of being 10 months old, I'm pretty sure Liz didn't have any other litter at the same time as Ulric (unless I'm mistaken).
