Really looking forward to coming, we're all set to get up early and hit the road! Daughter has recently turned vegetarian, glad you have that option - will definitely be staying for lunch :)

Camping sounds like it'll be a blast, hope you all have a great evening/weekend and the weather holds.

See you tomorrow!

Most of the committee have badges which says committee (but not all, some people lost theirs.......you know who you are!!)
I actually found mine , more organised than I thought , it was attached to a rosette we won on the day last year!

I'm so glad we went, we had a great time - thank you to Lynn and the rest of the committee! It was lovely to meet you and some of the other forumites, and of course all the wonderful dogs. They really were beautiful, and we were very impressed with their temperament. Gorgeous :)

She was very fond of Alfie the Malamute, he was also camping for the weekend :)
And for the Tamaskan she really liked Ookami and Ayasca untill she got tired, then she became really grumpy

ANNUAL TAMASKAN SHOW OF GREAT BRITAIN 2011

Post by JulieSmith » Sun May 22, 2011 10:57 pm

Here are some of my photos from the day.

We had a great day, weather was good, bit blowy at times, but apart from that no complaints on the weather. Lots of lovely dogs to look at and fuss, it was lovely to meet so many that I have only ever seen in photos. It was also nice to meet the owners, everyone was very friendly and it was lovely to meet people we had met last year again.

Saga got 3rd in Minor puppy (out of 3  ) and 3rd in Puppy (out of 6 I think :D ) and Holly our Yorkshire (Russell) Terrier got first in the other breed section, a big thankyou to Finley who made sure his dog did not walk round the ring to give Holly a chance

Did saga and hunter "recognize" each other as sisters?
And did they remember Odin as their dad?
I always wondered about the recollection of dogs when it come to their littermates and parents.

Saga and Hunter did not seem that bothered with each other, Saga had a good play with Sam her brother they got on very well. Odin and Saga where not that interested in each other, but I think Figga recognised Saga, they where very loving towards each other. I have some lovely photos of them together which I will post on Saga's thread some time this week.

Just got around to answering some of my mails and a quick look at the forum. We still had people here today :D now it is quiet

I would just like to say a HUGE thankyou to everyone who attended and to ALL our committee. Without you all we could never have done this show. The weather was very kind to us with the sun shining all day allowing people to lay blankets on the ground and chill. Now the planning starts for our anniversay show next year :D

Yes Denver is a registered Tamaskan. He is related to Tumanra and Kenai.
He has a longer coat than usual but fantastic shape head with lovely yellow eyes. He has a good construction, movement and has an excellent character. Sadly todate he hasnt reproduced.

We are looking for a suitable venue in the centre of the country close to an airport as people will be travelling in from Europe, USA and of course Scotland and South of England so the centre of the country will be fair to all. If anyone has any ideas of a venue where camping is allowed etc then do let me know. ;)

None of them are trained for the show ring and it is difficult to behave when there are so many exciting things around like other dogs and the smell of cheeseburgers cooking and maybe even the faint smell of the girls in season ;)

Exactly - thats why I was thinking about doing ring-training with the DKK (Danish Kennel Club), as a member I can join in on their classes even with a non DKK dog thats so nice..
You guys think that would be a good idea?

Another problem that I was faced with was that none of my dogs are used to having a dog show in their backyard  One minute they have all the land and no one about and the next minute there are campers and dogs all over the place. It wasnt easy for them at all on their own property with all those strange dogs. Also ALL of my girls were in season and ALL the males going bonkers and we had male and female mixed classes  SO.... that is why you see a lot of dogs acting up  Also with me having so many dogs I had to have handlers for them who they had never met until 2 minutes before they entered the ring so all in all I think they all behaved themselves very well ;)

Apparement it was a video on the general speeds of all the dogs....

After, the general speeds, there are an individual judgment of every dog ? Vérifications of the teeth ? Testicles ?, size ? An indivuel statics of every dog ?
In any case, I shall have liked being present...

Thanks for sharing the lovely photos all the dogs look fabulous. :D

Thanks Rahne for the wonderful video it was lovely to see. :D

I think all the dogs behaved very well, after all none are trained show dogs, I bet some of them have never seen so many other Tams before and I'm sure most of them just wanted to run around and play

I'm curious did they get a chance to have an off lead run around together :?:
