Hello everyone! Greetings from deep south of Sweden!
My name is Alexander Ravenna and I am a primitive bowyer.
I live in the beautiful countryside of Scania on an old farm with my three cats. Great nature with deep Beach forests, great fields, lakes and beaches to roam in!
I do workshops in primitive skills and lecturing about hunter/gatherer stoneage era, wich is a big part of my life.
We had many dogs when I was young. I had one dog (Dixie)of my own for about 10 wonderfull years before she had to fly back to dog heaven. Now, I feel that its the time for me to share the friendship of an fourlegged compadre again. I feel that I am drawn to wolflike dogs and have been looking around for a couple a months. Just found out about Tamaskan dog and feel that this breed seems like it could fit right in here with me.
Since they are rare here in Sweden Im thinking of importing one. A lot of things to be learned about this process, though.
I would like to learn more and hopefully there would be some Swedish members at this forum.
Anyhow, I am glad that I found this forum, and looking forward to this membership.

Hi and welcome

There’s a battle between two wolves inside us all.
One is Evil. It’s anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego.
The other is Good. It’s joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness and truth.
The wolf that wins? The one you feed!
~ Cherokee Proverb

Re: Hello everyone! Greetings from deep south of Sweden!
Thank you everyone for a warm welcome! That feels good! I have just started, and I am enjoing my Tamaskan-journey!
At the moment I am into looking up where all the European Tamaskan breeders are located, in relation to my own position.
Its also time to learn my Tamaskan-homework. Its a lot to read! Also looking at pictures of what different styles there are. I know what I wish for. Classic wolflike look with a lot of fur. Boy or a girl does not matter. Even an older dog could be of interest, just as long as the dog is alright in the head, and that the feel is right, to me.
The dog that will eventually find its way here, will get a lot of time in the woods with me. Thats for sure.
Thanx again, everyone
Alexander

En till svensk! Hej och välkommen!
But I'm satisfied with the conclusions I got in the end, and my next dog will probably be a Tamaskan, even if I don't know when yet.

I know what you mean. I found out about the breed back in 2008 and kind of kept them on my "wish-list", but didn't really get into the deeper facts until last summer, and with all the "chaos" that had happened just days/weeks before, it was very confusing at first. Its also time to learn my Tamaskan-homework.

Welcome, Alexander
We live in Denmark near Århus and have a male tamaskan - he's 13 months old now.
We will be going to Norway and Sweden this summer, so if you can give us some "fika", then maybe we could come by your farm, so you could meet our Yngwie (named after Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen)
