Is Bamboo Rice really healthy?

Post by todbranson »

I saw a friend feed his dog bamboo rice. When I asked why, he said that when bamboo rice is mixed with food, it is good for diseases related to metabolism and that bamboo rice is very nutritious and empowering.

What do you think about it?

I think bamboo rice is just a filler material, much like regular rice, or sweet potato, etc... it's fine to mix into the food now or then, or in small quantities, but it shouldn't form a main portion of the daily diet.

Bamboo rice might be good for metabolism-related diseases, but I haven't seen any clinical studies proving that. It's still just a hypothesis at this point. As for its nutritive value, I would need to see more research on that front as well.
