Blue bay shepherd?

Post by Annie »

Hello, world :)

May I ask you guys if there is anyone here, who knows ANYTHING about this breed?

VICKI SPENCER http://bluebayshepherds.weebly.com/ is the breed Founder,
and there is also breeder in France: https://www.facebook.com/blue.bay.shepherd/ http://www.bluebayshepherds.fr/

Do you think these breeders are ok? Are these dogs realy what it says on the site?
Here are owners who said everything good about this breed. http://bluebayshepherds.weebly.com/owne ... nials.html

But from my experiences with "wolfdog" breeds that are claimed to be with no wolf in them and good family pets, breeders ussualy lie. For many time I thought alaskan noble companion is ideal family pet, then I have read the lies and cheating around this breed. Most of These dogs are so fearful and hard to keep, that there is absolutely no truth in breeder's words. Also she sold too young puppies and was breeding more than 11 years old bitch.

So, I realy don't trust breeders of "wolfdogs" that are NON registered. What do you think?
I would never give money to animal torturers!

But these dogs are truly BEAUTIFUL!
Makes me wanna have one of them.

WE CAN SEE WOLF IN THESE DOGS, I'M SURE. But that is okay with me, I would like to have a wolfdog oneday. I am learning about wolf behaviour, and this is only a plus, I love wolves, their nature, it would be a great challenge.
But it would help a lot if I COULD BE SERTAIN WHAT TO EXPECT,like you know what to expect with czechoslovakian wolfdog, because there is A LOT of informations, you can see them in real life. But blue bays are so rare...

I don't think they claimed their dogs were without wold, did they?
Because everyone knows that this breed comes from American WD mixes.
I think Blue Bays in France are very low content, you can totally see the shepherd in them.
I don't see much wolf in a lot of their dogs. But they definitely have wolf heritage.

But if I'm right, they weren't indeed completely honest.
Especially for the health part. The BBS I know is really sick, she has a autoimmune disease
(now that I think about it, I didn't see her since a long time :( ... )

And they don't sell not neutred dogs.

I don't know the full history about this controversial wolfdog crossbreed and have been staying out of the dramas, to be honest. But I definitely would encourage that you ask some of the actual wolfdog owners in the Wolfdog education for beginners group on facebook, many of them may know far more. Furthermore, I recommend that you continue taking the informations from that weebly with a lump of salt.

Thank you very much guys!
I joined in the group you mentioned, still waiting for approval.

About health, this is realy sad to hear. I hope it's the exception rather than the rule...

There Dogs are wolfdogs / Blue Gsd mixes founded by Vicky Spencer. I agree with that these dogs are very stunning and beautiful. For few years ago I was connected with Vicky asking about this race and its healthy. Unfortunately her breeding dogs were not x-raid or healthy tested, which was an unpleasant suprise. I don't know, what's the situation of her Blue bays at the moment, but without healthy testings breeding is not ethical and can produce sick dogs.

Hmm. Everything I've read seemed to indicate Vicky Spencer had a pretty good reputation in the WD community. No health testing is news to me. :?

The American Blue Bay Shepherd is a large breed of dog and its origin is new. Around 2011.
