Tamaskans In Australia?

Post by Wolfloveroftasmania »

Hi guys! :D

I am very interested in the Tamaskan breed. I have been a fanatic of wolves (probably due to hours of nature documentaries during my early childhood). A few months ago I came across the Tamaskan breed and have been researching fervently ever since…
I am 16 years old so sadly in no position to buy a puppy yet but eventually I would love to have some property and a few wolf looking dogs… To my knowledge there are 2 breeders in Australia? But their most recent litters have only been outcrossed… So I was hoping to find out if there are any breeders who have/would send a puppy to Australia in a few years if it all works out. (but it seems like a bit of a process so we’ll see how I go).

Thank you all in advance!

Welcome! As far as I am aware, Outback is planning a Tamaskan X Tamaskan litter in the near future.
With regard to importing, puppies must have 0% wolf content so finding a suitable Tamaskan litter to import a puppy can be a little challenging, plus the overall costs are quite high due to the import requirements (minimum age, vaccinations, blood tests, flight costs, quarantine, etc).

Thank you!
Oh ok… when I looked at “planned litter” their female that was going to be crossed with the male was already an outcross??? Sorry I could be wrong.
Yeah I figured that they would have some arrangement like that… from what I could tell it is quite a process!
Thank you very much for your reply much appreciated!!!

No problem! I believe there are plans for a near-future litter between Oslo (Sylvaen Ethereal Shard) and Mysti (Outback Vulkan). It will be a nice combination! :)

Hi there, I'm Booma Tamaskan. Both Kirra (Outback Tamasman) and I are in Perth.
I have had two litters ever, the first 8 years ago was an outcross litter, and my most recent one last December was a Tamaskan x Tamaskan litter.
Kirra has done a couple of outcross litters, and has plans in place for tamaskan x tamaskan litters, including the one Debby mentions for next year. I have several possibilities I am looking at either for next year or the year after depending on how life treats me.
Feel free to contact either (or both) kirra and I on our Facebook pages. There's also an Australian tamaskan page, though it's not at all busy.
